A window with MiG-29 Buy as a gift keeps popping up whenever I start DSC launcher and switch between 2D and VR mode and doesn't let me start the sim. It keeps popping up every time I try to switch modes. Only after several tries it goes off, but it's still there on the next start. Very annoying. I pre-ordered 29 regularly and I don't have a clue why the launcher is forcing me to buy it as a gift to someone...

Flying F-16s and F-18s we lost Datalink when our AWACS was shot down. There was no fighter to fighter link of any kind, except when we get close to each other to 5 miles or less.

After the update we can finally go back to missions. It is not 100% there, but we can work with this.

From couple of feet to 10 miles when breaking formation. 2-5 miles is the worst. I dont know what your problem is. I SEE BLACK SQUARES COVERING AIRCRAFTS. 2-5 miles is the worst, because the plane itself begins to appear and the square is covering it.

Dont troll. I fly formation every day in DCS. Black squares literary cover the upper half of the planes.

Im quite sure I NEVER use labels in DCS.

My team and I only fly formation right now. Even that looks awful if someone leave formation for a bit. I can clearly see the shape of the plane from a few miles and also a big black square hovering above its cockpit. If that is not a label, I don't know what is.

So you wouldn't allow people like me to enjoy DCS just because... So ED is gonna torture us with the experiments instead giving us the patch while waiting for appropriate solution. Nice work.

As I said - "NOT FULLY USABLE" Not usable if you want to have realistic look at the targets, because they are poking your eyes from unrealistic distances. Usable if you fly against static objects, or practicing formation flying. We all agree it is was not perfect, but having this drastic change in opposite direction is way worse. In reality, sometimes you cannot spot a plane inside 10 nm that easily. But also in reality you can never have big black labels around those planes.

DCS IS NOT FULLY USABLE. I dont know what your game is, but you sound ridiculous. I hope that one of the solutions will be TURN SPOTTING DOT OFF. I am 100% sure that would be a solution for most of the VR devices.

Word playing doesn't serve us any good. DCS is unusable for most players because of a mistake we used to have, corrected it, than have it again. Dont tell me I should ignore going CAS mission and seeing every target behind any cover from a distance as big black blobs the size of a 12 story building.

We can also play Ace Combat, but we only prefer not to.... That was a vary bad argument.

Read again: I dont care if ED want to implement new spotting dot, but make it work first, and only then implement it. We already test it before and it was not good. Then, they added an option to turn it off. Now, they took that option away, while giving us the thing we already know it's bad. Thousands of people cannot fly missions right now, because air and ground targets are ugly black blobs seen from miles away. I hope I cleared that for you.

This is heavily zoomed for reference. F-18 on the runway, and a little bit further F-18 with spotting dot covering almost entire plane. Not helping at all...

I have been flying in 2D also. Never had an issue. You cannot expect to see a target 20 miles away without any issue.

Spotting dot worked fine for range of VR-s until last update. Now we have black bricks covering planes. It literary prevents me to see the aircraft underneath. IT IS A BAD SOLUTION. IT DOES NOT WORK. THE OLD SOLUTION WORKED FINE AND WE WERE NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. THERE ARE LOTS OF DIFFERENT THINGS ED NEEDS TO FOCUS ON. LEAVE THE SPOTTING DOT AS IT WAS BEFORE AND DO THE TESTING SOMEWHERE ELSE.

No. For me and my team they worked fine. What we have now is totally unplayable. Not going back to DCS until they fix it because there is no point.

You had old spotting dot implemented before. You don't need to reinvent it. Just put it back where you found it.

A single ground unit (BTR-80) sitting on the runway is as wide as the runway itself from 5nm distance. A convoy of units on the road is a huge black snake from a distance, much wider then the road itself. There is no point in flying any kind of mission right now.
