  3. Update: Repeated the test on the same target at 6290ft in a custom mission with air spawn, and now the waypoint is showing 200ft high. Also changed the altimeter setting, had no effect on the altitude being wrong.
  4. So I've been trying to do some low level bombing with Mk. 82 Snakeyes (A-6 Intruder style), and I'm entering the target coordinates into the DATA page, and making sure to include the target elevation (obtained by using the F10 map and hovering the mouse over the coordinates of the target). The target elevation is 6290ft. I made sure to switch it to feet. QNH was also 29.85, so I set that into the aircraft as well. When I roll into the target after selecting the waypoint and snakeyes, I notice every time that the diamond on the HUD is far underground, hold down the release button and the drop on schedule, just to fall nowhere near their target, from a drop of 200ft AGL. Confused by this, I tried to slew the TDC back onto the target manually for my second drop, and the TDC just went underground as well showing a target nearly 4 miles away from where I was (I was less than a mile from the correct target). Finally, after more experimentation, I changed the target elevation in the computer to 7100ft, and then the diamond showed on target, and the bombs dropped accurately. The target elevation had to be set 800ft higher than it actually was to drop on target. I repeated the same experiment with a target at sea level, and set the target elevation with no correction (33ft in this case), and the bombs fell short again, this time not nearly as pronounced though, and the diamond appeared to be only slighltly below the target. I am perplexed as to what is wrong. INS was fully aligned on the ground prior to takeoff. Is this known bug with the INS/Waypoint system? Or is there something I'm doing wrong? It seems to me that altitude in the Hornet is not 1:1 with actual altitude. Thanks in advance.
  5. Will aircraft be able to spawn on the bow in front of cats 1 and 2 if the deck is full?
  6. Hey guys, I'm just curious as to if anyone knows how spawning on the new carrier for the Hornet is going to work? Is it going to be like a FARP where you are given whatever parking spot is available? Or will it be only a few jets can be assigned to spawn at the carrier with designated parking positions? In other words, can multiple jets be assigned to the same parking spot on the carrier? Also, does anyone know how many parking spots there will be on the carrier? In the trailer I counted 16 jets on deck, but there is so much more room for more aircraft. If the carrier was full enough, there is enough room to park a bunch of planes on Cats 1 and 2, and just utilize Cats 3 and 4 for launch instead. Thanks in advance!
