  1. I just noticed you have flat terrain shadows on, switching this to ''Default'' should help with flickering shadows. Turning up overall shadow quality will help as well, I would turn the AA down to help with frames too. The built in MSAA hits pretty hard, I personally use nVidia FXAA/MSAA as well as the AF too. Helps with performance.
  2. I haven't seen any noticeable shadow flicker except on certain parts of the carrier / ships at sea. The ocean reflections seem a little too intense which produces the flickering on horizon / where ships are.. I think it's just the low res reflection, you could probably find a way to manually increase the quality of the reflections but I wouldn't have a clue to be honest. 2.5 is still WIP and I'm sure the water / shadows will receive further attention in the near future.
  3. I would suggest upping your view distance should you want LODs to come in a little earlier. Will also extend the overall viewing range of the player. Can hit FPS pretty hard though depending, but I run similar settings with Extreme viewing distance on a 1080 no problem.
  4. I have an apartment in Coconut Grove right near the end of the runway, here's a couple of shots I took last time the birds were in town. Super-hornets but same same to me :music_whistling:
  5. I run PG with 8GB DDR3, fairly light single player missions but I usually empty the tanks in the hornet and haven't crashed once since getting both modules. PG + F18 Runs brilliantly on my system, obviously over the larger cities frames will drop a bit, but still smooth and no stutter, perfect for low flying at high speeds. I had regular crashing on DCS 2.5 when switching from AMD to Nvidia a few months ago however using a driver wipe utility and a clean re-install of drivers, the crashes ceased.
  6. Hi all, First time poster however long time DCS enthusiast (I hail from the days of LOMAC & il2) Would like to take the time to dedicate my first post on these forums to thanking the team at ED, Matt Wagner and every other third party developer who has brought to life the many amazing aircraft we have within DCS, particuarly the Hornet we recently got. I could never have fathomed 10 years ago that we would be able to have a hornet as detailed and breathtakingly realistic as the one you guys released to EA the other day. I hear hornets in operation quite regularly in my day to day life and can say with confidence that you guys couldn't have nailed it better. I'm more referring to the sound, particularly the INCREDIBLE accuracy of the sounds when she's screaming towards you. No piece of software has made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up quite like this one has, so here's to many more years of use. I really look forward to seeing the systems that are up and coming for her. Best regards, Nic
