I was curious if anyone has tried BS on a touchscreen PC? I was checking out the HP's and thought if you could get a decent graphics card and a touchscreen cockpit that would be incredible. has anyone experimented with one? would this work?

Wombat778, thanks much, you are correct, another annoying thing that shouldnt be, does that qualify as a bug? bugged me, thanks again! 24.xx hours of flight time and I have my first successful mission. Kind of sad huh, lol!

Wombat778, I think you may be correct about the nationality thing, I'm gonna have to go over to Red side and see if that will fix it... whats the old saying, "I rather be dead then red" now "I rather be red then dead" The kids are napping and or occupied, its time for some me time...

Thats the thing, I didnt from what I could see, I destroyed only the Nothern convoy and then straight home. I set the label option "on" in Sim mode to make sure I didnt target anything else, could there be soldiers running around that I'm not seeing? I thought that maybe because I left the designated flight plan that I may have compromised some other mission component? As much as I'm enjoying BS its getting frustrating as hell. thanks for your reply...

Not to sound like a bother but... I have dual core and the sim runs better when the affinity is set to 2 CPU's and I am running a 8800m SLI (twin chip single gcard) with 1000meg. If I disable either the sim crawls. Dell 1730 XPS Vista 32 Nvdia 8800M SLI 4gig Duo 2.4 Track IR3

Happy New Year! I just managed what I thought was my first succesful mission. I did the Convoy mission. I managed to destroy the Nothern convoy and both I and my wingman made it back to base. I had a good landing, parked it, and exited the Ka-50. When I exited the mission it said I again commited "fraticide". I checked the mission and the only things I destroyed was the convoy. Could it be because I left my flight plan and went directly to the Nothern convoy? I thought I was in position to celebrate my first succesful action, doah! any ideas what I'm doing wrong? :joystick:

I like the CH equipment but I would have to buy te complete setup and that is kind of expensive. I was still considering it when I found the X52 pro for $129.00 new at GoGamer.com. Hopefully I won't regret not paying for the CH gear....

I have the Dell XPS laptop with SLI 8800m and it works great. I havnt turned off the SLI in the Nvidia panel to see if there is a performance difference but it does work. Note, I've also used the dual core mod I found here on the forums and that helped a bunch also. I've been running it in "High" mode and its flawless; of course the sim itself is a challenge but it does run smooth... If I could only get the logitech force to work with it.... I think a HOTAS setup is definately gonna be the next thing, I wish they stocked dthe X52 or CH products locally....

Thanks for the reply. I did download the new drivers; I was confused, I thought the 4.1xxx was just for the TR4. I have it working now and must say, freeing up panning around the cockpit with the mouse is a huge improvement. btw, I'm still a bit confused what profile I run and where I access my favorites; so far I've tried what I think are two different profiles, Black shark specific and the flight default, this has made a great sim even better.

Can anyone tell me if the Track IR 3 Pro is supported? I can't get the device to activate while running Black Shark, I must have missed something; I know the FAQ said something about TR4 drivers etc, any help would be appreciated, thanks

I was having the same trouble, it was driving me nuts. Why does the video and or training missions exclude such basic and vital stuff? Some of us need the complete walk-thru btw, where in the controller setup do I see that "r" .... what function do I set and program to my controller?

Which controller should I buy? I know its pretty subjective and suspect theres many diferences of opinions but.... based on some basic criteria, support and profiles expense $200-300 compatibility with BS What are the FF options besides modding a two year old MS stick? what did the developer expect and or use in-house, is it it even relevant with the budget I have? So far it seems that the choice is between the CH products or the X52 pro. Personally I'm leaning towards the X52 pro because I'd like to avoid pedals if possible. Years ago I had the serial CH Combat stick and pedals and really appreciated the quality, does the X52 feel rugged enough? A full CH setup is pretty expensive but not out of the question. I'd feel a lot better if I could just target and destroy something....lol.

Logitech doesnt work properly Well, the Logitech Force 3D pro just doesnt seem to work properly. When Flying in game mode vs. Sim mode the throttle sliders are mapped differently, I cant seem to change them either. When I fly in the sim mode the helipcopter isnt flyable. I thought this was a noob thing and likely a trimmer issue but I dont think so. When I went back to the Saitek Aviater and to the full sim the heli was way more balanced and the throttle/cyclic all mapped to the stick. Another issue I had with the Logitech Force 3D was the lack of FF in the sim. While in sim mode there was nothing but a return an automatic return to center; no trim response. When I went to game mode the trim way over compensated and rendered the heli unflyable. I was hoping to get some minimal efect of FF when launching misiles or gun fire etc, nadda, nothing. Lastly it seems the Saitek is definately a better control device thus far, I think I will return and put the money towards a Saitek X52 Pro. If anyone can tell me of their experience with the Logi I 'd like to know, it seems a shame the FF cant work and the controller so hypersensitive when in sim mode. BTW, I did try to change the sensitivity of the X, Y, but I couldnt mange to get the BS controller profiler to open up Axis sensitivity. Wow, so far a huge learning curve and other then some casual flight time in game mode and "instant action" I cant for the life of me get the ordinance and targeting procedures to work. I have flown the training missions, and specifically the weapon deployement one at least a dozen times, either I'm mentally challenged or something isnt working properly. I'll start another thread specific to this, if someone has any other resources specific to training other then the manual and the training ops I'd love to know. thanks for reading....

OK, BS has me jonesin to get back into a cockpit after a long time. I was psyched to see the english download and bought it. I got home and set it up and used my cheasy Saitek Aviator Joystick, it just didnt cut it, I then went to find the X52 Pro, (what the hell its Xmas and I'm feelin the love) So of course the sku says ones in stock, they cant find it and theres a snow storm coming and its Christmas caous in the store; I figure I'll at least pickup the FF stick and give it a whirl and return it when the X52 pro is in stock. For some reason the cyclic isnt reconised and throttle isnt either, yeah the keyboard works but its still a dumb stick, I dig into the DCS profiler and I feel like a deer in the headlights, man, theres a lot stuff to figure out. Does anyone have a profile for this logi? The forces only seem to work after first entering the sim, no trigger fun, just centering etc. IS there a bigger issue here or am I just clueless and likely hopeless. thanks guys, cya in a couple years once I get a handle on this delicously complex sim...
