  1. I've been away a week on vacation when the "09" patch came-out. I've got "08" running on my computer and am trying to download the "09" patch. I've created a folder to save the download "09" patch files. However when attempting to save and download the first file, the "patch_setup_v1.1.0.9_en.exe" file, I receive an error notice, Set-Up needs the Disk. Please insert Disk 1 and click OK. Well, I don't have a Disk 1; I purchased an A10 Beta way back via a direct download, and have patched it up to a 1.1.0.8 version that resides on my hard-drive.

What do I need to do to download/save and install the 1.1.0.9 Patch, that upgrades my "08" version that is active on my computer? What setup step am I missing? :book:

  2. The training mission unfortunately wasn't updated in v1.1.0.8!

Can we assume that the Training Missions will be in "sync" when the next update patch arrives, and whatever else is updated in the next patch is also being updated in the Training Missions. I'm kinda a newbie and need that extra hand-holding that the training missions provide.

Or is it don't assume anything? :D

  3. Guys, thanks for the info on what version have I installed, it's 1.1.0.7; checked with the Mission Editor-Misc Tab and the properties in the dcs.exe file. Still it's somewhat strange that my Control Panel for installed programs identifies the program as" DCS A-10C Beta Version" dated 11/8/2010 Version 1.1.41985. My OS is Win7 64-bit.

Nevertheless I now know what I'm running.

  4. I had a Beta Version 1.1.0 installed last January. I've been away from simming because of my tax business and have come back to A10. I uninstalled the old Beta version and downloaded and installed, I believe, the 1.1.0.7 version on my computer from the DCS website. Looking at my Control Panel Programs (Programs & Features), I see " DCS A-10C Beta Version" as being installed on 11/8/2010 Version 1.1.41985 ?? Is that somehow locked into my Control Panel Programs irrespective of what version it is?

Also, I can't seen to find what version it is, when opening-up the Sim? There's no indicator within the Sim that informs me what version I'm running.

Not sure why my Control Panel Programs are saying that it's DCS A10-C Beta, I'm sure I uninstalled the old Beta Version and installed the 1.1.0.7 nonBeta version. Can someone clarify this for me?

  5. I would recommend that you get an updated profile as well. (And why is your Saitek profile inside the Config folder?)

OOPs, it's the Saitek Lua file that's inside the Config folder. Does anyone know if StrongHarm has updated his Saitek X52 Pro profile after January of 2011?

  6. I'm coming back to A10 after a lay-off for my other life as a CPA during the tax season; it still have a few tax returns to prepare that are on extension. I last ran the Sim back in January, and downloaded the current active version (1.1.0.7) today. The old version running on my computer is Beta 1.1.0.

It's going to be a whole new learning experience; do I uninstall the Beta 1.1.0 and then install the current 1.1.0.7, or do I just install the current version over the old Beta 1.1.0 ?? Also my joystick settings were developed by StrongHarm for the Saitek 52Pro, I believe it's his version dated 1/22/11. That joystick profile is in my DCS A-10C Beta/Config/Input folder. I'll save that in a temp folder so I can re-load it to the 1.1.0.7 version that I'll be installing.

Any thing else that I should do? I know that I got to re-acquaint myself with the manual, which will be a chore in itself, sometimes it seems like the US Internal Revenue Code.:D

  7. Will we only download and install the "Final"-Gold or do we install a fresh Beta 1 followed by a fresh Patch 1 (Beta 2), followed by a fresh Patch 2 (Beta 3), followed by a fresh Patch 3 (Beta 4), etc.

It would be nice to know, I'm all for downloading and installing just the "Final" version. I said fresh above because I usually add some missions and adjust my controller settings in the Betas.

  8. Any Update to Your Profile

StongHarm, are you planning on updating your profile? I've been using it since the first Beta. If you're going to update your X52Pro graphic, should switch the ID descriptions DMS/TMS-Forward and DMS/TMS-Aft. Forward(UP) should be on top while Aft(DOWN) is at the bottom, your's seemed to have it reversed, confused the hell out of me the first time using the profile. Also if you can make the the graphic on one page I can then print it as a separate page; for whatever reason I can't separate the spreadsheet detail from the HOTAS graphic when placing it in a MS Word (doc) file.

I appreciate your work, keep it up.

  9. I've set my preferences to Imperial however the Mission editor settings for speed & distance are set for metric. I'm running Beta3/Patch2; are there any plans in future patches/updates to adjust the mission editor settings to whatever the user establishes in the Options Screen? I'd like the settings in the Mission Editor to reflect what one sets in the Option Settings; either imperial or metric. Or am I missing a step to get them to conform?

  10. I've got the AC-10 in Windows mode rather than full-screen. I'm trying to re-size it making it bigger, unfortunately no "sizing arrows" appear on the edges when attempting to elongate the window. I'm attempting to do this after a fresh install to Beta 3 or Patch 2. Is that feature missing in the Beta?

I have a ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Graphic Card and a 24" widescreen monitor.

  11. OK,.. guys, I'll have to remember that FWD is up and Aft is down. That's what was messing me when looking at the manual instructions. Because my HOTAS is a Saitek X52 Pro, my POV3 axis for the TMS is on the backside of the throttle rather than the joystick. Also the other confuser is the key command listing doesn't show TMS FWD or TMS Aft; all it has is TMS Up and TMS Down, it would be nice if DCS labeled the listing as Down/Aft and Up/Forward

  12. The short manual last page has a Cougar (I believe), I've got a x52 PRO, my TMS switch is on the backside of the throttle, using StrongHarm's Profile. Pushing it DOWN seems to affect the Down LCtrl key, pulling it UP affects the Up LCtrl key. In the Manual Page 561 No. 6 at the bottom says,... press TMS Forward Short to initiate a lock. On my setup with an x52 I would hit my TMS control HOTAS button Down or Forward to get the desired result.
