  1. Thanks for watching. I do have a vr headset and I use it in the pit when I fly dcs. BMS doesnt support vr.
  2. I made some progress. I switched from vr to both vr and non vr. Also, for now I use F4toserial which for the non vr experiance only supports F4 bms. The succesor of f4toserial will also support dcs. Thats why i used bms for this short first test flight. The landing is terrible but i was just trying out if the pit worked.
  3. Once again Some progress
  4. Some small progress
  5. Wow! That looks great!!!! I made some small progress: - I 3d printed switches and placed them on the panels. They are for now not functional. I did this to test if the locations match the VR cockpit - For the same reason I also made the hand rail. I installed only the left - I started building a prototype of the upfront panel including the mfds - I painted the wooden frame white so it looks a little bit better What do you think?
  6. Thanks for the nice words. I have a very small budget. The cockpit so far (without the hotas) was less than 50 euro. The white ICP is my own work. I 3D printed it. It is fully functional. When I have some money I ll check the DSD site. Thanks again :)
  7. old picture so you can see better how it looks
  8. old picture from a test with cardboard
  9. Thanks! I started the project, if people are interested I can post more pictures or a video.
  10. Detail
  11. This is from the otherside
  12. This is what I have so far, this is the stored version of the cockpit
  13. Hi, Let me first introduce myself. I am from Europe, the Netherlands, so English is not my native language. I do make mistakes. I have some experience in home cockpits. This is my Cessna based cockpit. Unfortunately I had to move and in my new house there’s not enough space for a full cockpit. So I demolished the cockpit. But now I will start building a new cockpit. Because I dont have a lot of room, it has to be very small. Or it has to be possible to easily store and move it. Also, it will be a VR cockpit. So my design requirements are: - F16 cockpit - Small, when stored it should be less than 0.5 square meter (about 3 foot by one foot). The complete cockpit including rudder pedals, vr-headset, computer, etc should fit in this space - VR, so looks are not that important, alltough it must look nice - Easy to move and transport. From stored to fully operational within maximum 5 minutes - Fully functional, first version only working throttle, stick, rudder, mfd’s, icp and some switches such as the gear, brake and other - Dimensions as close as possible tot he real cockpit Compromises - It seems to be impossible to fit a chair within this small space. So for now I will have to use a regular desk chair. - 1:1 scale is also not possible so it will be a bit smaller What do you think? Will this be possible?
  14. Here you can see the outside and the screens:
  15. Thank you! The sidescreens are connedted to the cockpit. The cockpit is on a platform so I can esily move it. The frontscreen is mounted on the wall. I use this for racesims and voor DCS when I play without VR.
  16. Hi all, I am in the proces of starting to build a home cockpit for the F18. I use an oculus rift so it will be a VR cockpit. Because I also do racesim, and have a frex simconmotion, I will be using this seat for the cockpit. The cockpit must feel as real as possible, the way it looks is not that important because you cant see it. Also the cockpit must be very cheap and easy to build. I plan to use cardboard, wood and my 3d printer for buttons etc. I already have build two side panels from wood and cardboard. I hope I can finish this project within a few months. Now I hear you think: this is another ambitious project what will die..... Well, it could be the case. You never know. But as the tittle says....... I have some experience. I build a cesna based cockpit (which is still not 100% finished) for X-plane. I have a few movies for this cockpit and I will add the progress of F18 pit to the channel. I will also post some pictures here but my channel will be the main source of information. This is my cessna cockpit. It is build on the same principles as the f18: easy, very cheap and quick to build So here is the movie of the cessna, F18 will folow soon
