Suggested fixes for AAR.
1. Tanker lighting for boom tankers needs to be fixed. Currently no underbelly lights are working. This necessitates NVG use at night which is not recommended due to the depth perception issues. The position lights can only be seen with NVGs per earlier post. The belly lights illuminated the entire underbelly of the tanker and the top of the receiver when the receiver is in position. Bottom line it’s nearly impossible to refuel at night without NVGs. An option in the communication menu for the tanker to adjust these lights could be useful. The photo below shows the belly lights not simulated. Looks like they are located inboard of engines 2 and 3. Note the reflection on the receiver which shows the level of illumination.
2. Dry contact option would be nice to allow for practice AR even when the takes are full.
3. additional tankers like the KC-10 would be nice and programming for basket and boom receivers for the same tanker.
