Thanks kindly for the response. This is good news. My honest feedback is that I really, 100% believe that regular updates about the core of DCS will go a very long way to placating the community. We are all very excited to see where this is at. All the guys I fly with, we talk about the core all the time.
Thanks again.

BIGNEWY, can we get a comment on the status of the Vulkan implementation? How far along is it? Are there any test builds? If so, how are they performing?
-
A few bugs, but a solid base. Pleasantly surprised. It looks bloody fantastic, even though it turns my rig into a potato. I'm sure this will improve. Thanks ED. Looking forward to seeing it evolve. Thank you for sorting out some MP lag issues.
Lets get Vulkan and multi-threading going!
Kind regards

Is this a memory leak issue?

I suppose it would be like having a Chinese flag for Taiwan.
And Tibet.
And Honk Kong.
And all that ocean right up everyone else's beaches.

Can we expect a meaningful patch this week?
Any info appreciated, thanks

Yeah, exciting news from the department of meh....
Could almost hear Wags cringing about that video. Either that or there's a pistol to his temple...

Hi Big Newy,
Thanks for responding. I will send you a PM with a drive link to the file. It was a reasonably long flight. It might be worth checking out the perspective of the F/A-18 that pops in later, when he was at 36,000 feet he reported that the ground was disappearing. I have also sent the track file from the mission before to quantify my comments in opening. See what you think, maybe it is helpful.

Might have found a new bug in disappointing (lately) combat simulator. On the ground at Fujairah, moving back onto the runway after refuelling and the side marking line texture (fog line?) wass moving as I taxied forward. Pictures attached for context. As i move forward the line over takes me. Noticed by other players too. Also we had to resort to a warbird only mission tonight, lost half our players who had the $#!ts with the terrible, terrible, terrible multiplayer debacle that our once favourite sim has degraded into.

So work with me here, am I to understand correctly the Super Carrier was delayed because it had issues in multiplayer, only to release a patch that completely renders the current carriers inoperable in multiplayer? The Flying Kiwis are flying some pretty massive, well coordinated, well planned online missions now days of over 24 pilots for each mission at least twice a week. We are busy! But the state of 2.5.6 is quite shocking, and it takes a LOT for me to come here and leave a negative review.
My frame rates in VR were very good though, just a shame about the planes bouncing around and smashing into each other on the carriers, a shame almost everyone hard locking at Khasab on landing, a shame about a lot of guys unable too even login on multi player after crashing out of DCS (maybe the servers are being hammered with the free for all?).
Might have been better to just release the Super Carrier, at least we would be where we are now with multi player but we would actually have the super carrier (could it be any worse? Really?).
This. I was part of this tonight. A lot of effort was put in to mission building, planning and execution. Seems like you guys broke the crap out of some thing this patch, because last Sundays mission was very successful and DCS ran quite well considering our player load.
You might want to look at the AI Mig 21 too... it seems to be a bit of a UFO...

Well, multiplayer, on the carrier is SHAGGED now. Bouncing and wobbling all over the place, so much ot feels like you gonna be sick in VR. Wasn't like this two weeks ago. Also Hornets seem to be blowing tires on landing for no reason

The SAM (self-appointed manager) has spoken.
-
Sigh. Might just bugger off to IL2 for a while I think. Can't wait to see what Microprose is cooking.
-
Hells yeah. Good to hear the memory leaks are getting fixed - i was close to buying another 16GB but i wasn't comfortable with that. Less memory leaks will equate to far better RAM management.
-
Lol why are people getting so bent out of shape? A few days of delay is going to be nothing in comparison to the years of enjoyment you can get out of the finished module. You want a refund because of a delay? So 15 days of delay makes the subsequent year+ of use meaningless? You've got to be kidding me...
Sure it's a little unfortunate, but I welcome the news and look forward to having fun with what the devs are working on when they're ready to release it!

Dang! Thats like unwrapping a xmas present and getting a knitted sweater haha.
Ah well, thanks for the info and the hard work. None of the bugs sounded like things anyone wants to put up with, happy to wait.
So the next two keenly awaited items, the Hind and P47, how are they going @BIGNEWY?
-
Screw the Viper, lets just get the bloody software running and running well. I'd trade 100 viper updates for a stable core.
-
Specifically, what is being done to fix the VR issue? Communication is key, it has been better but there is a lot of room for improvement. What is specifically, not generally, being worked on for next fortnight? Regular, specific communication alleviates a lot frustration for the community.
Thanks again for the hard work

Hi all
We are planning for the patch today, however it will depend on final checks.
When we know for sure we will post the patch notes.
Thanks for the swift response. Fingers crossed, but it will be what it will be.

Hello BigNewy and ED crew. How is the open beta patch looking for Wednesday? Is there anything news worthy to report? Hope they are getting supplied with plenty of coffee and biscuits while they beaver away!

When I was a young lad my Dad risked life in the doghouse by bringing home an Amiga 500 computer. We couldn't really afford it and Mum berated him. He saw that PCs were the future and wanted my brother and I to learn how to use them from a young age.
Then he bought home FA18 interceptor... and thats where it started!!!
DCS is what I dreamed this type of thing would one day evolve into. It's amazing, it's flawed, but it is getting better all the time. You make friends from across the globe. It's the thinking man's game, many people won't or can't understand the attraction and the addiction.
So thanks again for a a kick arse product and keeping me out of the pub.

Can you guus share some info on progress, improvements or otherwise yet? You mentioned they might be ready to share some info a while ago.
