Looks normal to me for a crosswind. When you cage it, it moves to the center which makes viewing easier for some things. But there is also a reference provided so you know there is a cross wind. If you do a straight-in approach to a runway w/ a crosswind, you use the reference symbol to line yourself up to the runway.
