  1. I'm new to DCS and FC3 and I'm trying to fly the A10A. It seems that the Angle of Attack is very high, even in straight and level flight, and as soon as I try to maneuver I get an accelerated stall almost right away. Obviously the faster I'm going the longer it takes for stall onset but this thing is handling like it's a million pounds. I've experimented with 50% fuel and no weapons but it still seems to always be close to stall. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I've also verified in axis tune that my x52 throttle gets full range so it seems as if it's not a throttle problem. oh. and I guess I can't spell "Attack"
  2. Hey all, I have an i7 920 Overclocked to 3.8 Ghz with a GTX 295. The game runs pretty smooth but from what I've read using an "affinity tool", since the game is so CPU dependent, will help it perform better. I have a few questions since I've never used/heard of an affinity tool before getting DCS. 1. What is an affinity tool? Where do you get it? 2. If there is more than one type of affinity tool what one is recommended for this game? 3. What is the best way to configure and use the tool to maximize performance for the i7? Thanks for any feedback
  3. Yea. That's what I meant the Shkval. Gotcha so you can put that on an object and then it will keep it there it sounds like. Thanks. I'll try.
  4. Does anyone know how to slew the abris around and designated a target..like a building or something when in the simlified avionics mode
  5. Thanks for the info guys. I have to get trackir. It sounds awesome. I might get pedals too it sounds. I'll look for some good ones and x52 is my stick. appreciate all this knowledge. Is DCS out yet? I just learned about it yesterday. I built this computer on a whim with hopes of playing some realistic flight simms and was a little disappointed when I stated looking at games and didn't really see any. Crysis and stuff is cool but I have an xbox for that kinda stuff. What is Triplehead2go? I've never heard of that. I've seen multiple monitor setups on youtube but never really thought about it. I wouldn't even know how to set that up.
  6. I just built a new computer and currently only have a mouse and keyboard. I can't wait to get some good flight simulator games and was wondering what is the best input device is for playing these games? I'm thinking about: Logitech: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102204 or this Saitek X52: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102507 I don't wanna buy rudder pedals if I don't have to. I'm also wondering if anyone has experience using trackIr. It looks cool. Does it work well? Is it worth the money? And if anyone has any advice on some (combat) flight simulator games that are pretty realistic that are must haves please post (my last flight sim was falcon 3.0 and US Navy Fighters and am looking for games like those.
  7. I'm new to computer gamming but I used to play simulators a lot in the 80s and 90s. I decided to get back into it and built myself a new computer a few weeks ago (never done before). I decided to go with the i7 920 because my philosophy on technology and computing is buy the newest that's the most upgradable within budget and then hopefully it'll last for more than 6 -12 months before it's out dated. The i7 1366 motherboards may not be perfect but the chip is (I think) the fastest with the most potential on the market and the mobos hold alot of RAM and overclock ability. Mine is the i7 920 2.66Ghz and I easily overclocked (never done before) it to 3.6 and am about to settle in on 3.8 for a 24/7 OC. With my EVGA Geforce 260 its fast and I'm gonna get another 260 to run together (why not). The new 1366 boards are not perfect and being brand new can cause some problems with kinks being worked out but...In my opinion...if you cant wait and want to build one now...and money is not a huge factor...go with i7. BTW if you are new to this like me I just wanna say I'm glad I went with EVGA x58 Motherboard because the online forums and customer service are extremely helpful if you need help with anything like overclock. But to each his own. p6t is popular too. Here's my build bought on newegg for around $2000-2300 (don't know because I got a lot of rebates and discounts from them): Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 COOLER MASTER V8 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler 1-Western Digital VelociRaptor 300gb 1-Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 1 EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked (gonna get another for SLI) Antec Twelve Hundred Case Thermaltake W0116RU 750W Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit
