  1. I thought I’d give an update. I was able to complete the mission last night. It was probably user error. What I did differently was to try to fly the mission planned ground track more accurately. I noticed right off the bat I started to get more of the scripted dialog. I’m guessing I might have cut some corners previously which might have caused me to miss some trigger points to progress the mission. Thanks for your help! It’s a fun campaign!
  2. Thanks for the reply. I was thinking maybe the wingman was supposed to go down due to the ELT sound but I wasn’t sure. (Nice touch). I thought I leveled the whole area with my rockets and bombs but the mission seemed to kinda stall out there and then I run out of gas before anything else happens. I’ll give it another go though and try to make sure I lay waste to the whole area and linger longer for the mission to progress. Now that you mention it one time I think I do remember hearing my wing man say something after he was down for a while.
  3. I’m having a hard time completing the Wild Weasel mission. This is the mission where you need to take out an SA3 site and then some F-4s are supposed to take out an SA6 site. I’m not sure if it’s a bug but the second my wingman releases weapons he blows up every time. Then I take out the SA3s but the mission never completes. If feels like it’s not progressing after the enroute portion when my wingman talks about some road that’s getting bombed. Any thoughts? I stick to the flight plan at low altitude until the SA3 site is at my 3 o’clock while I’m heading south.
  4. Does anyone know when using the command for a wingman to engage and attack my target how exactly do I specify my target? What if my radar is off and there are a couple bogeys in formation. Is my target where the center of my pipper is?
  5. I need help. I am kinda new to the F-5 but able to fly and shoot. I cannot for the life of me survive mission 2. I take off fly toward the group en-route to my fleet and try to pick off bombers and/or Mig-21s and just get owned. I've tried different strategies such as going after the 21s first but by then the bombers have wasted my fleet. I've also tried hitting the bombers first while dumping flares but eventually the 21s get me before I can finish off the 24s. Does anyone know how to succeed in this mission or have any strategy tips? thanks!

  7. Any update on this topic? My Helicopter is also getting damaged and bouncing when I land on the roof.
  8. *In VR* I like to fire the main guns from the copilot position using the flexible sight. The Copilots head used to be “glued” to the sight so that no matter where my head moved the gun would follow AND I’d be looking down the sight. Since the latest update after pressing Shift-T my head movement still controls the gun movement but my copilot head is no longer “glued” to the sight. So as I look left at some targets the aiming reticule in the flexible sight moves out of sight forcing me to physically move my whole body so that I can still see down the sight. It’s hard to explain and maybe it was done this way to be more immersive but is there anything I can do to make it like it used to be? thanks for any help!
  9. That seems to be the case. Oh well. Looked like a cool mission. Is there anyway to skip it or did I pay for the Argo Campaign to only get 5 missions? Frustrating.
  10. After I’m told to land because of a problem with the cargo I unhook the cargo and land. The suicide bombers drive up to the base. One of the vehicles gets immediately destroyed on the road. The other drives up to the base and just sits there at the gate. Some friendly infantry approach and an Apache is flying around but the mission won’t progress. Thoughts?

  12. Well that totally did the trick. Thank you! That was frustrating and I really wanted to complete the mission. It was a good one. Thank you so much!!!
  13. Awesome! I’ll try that. How do you edit that zone in the campaign?
  14. Do you know if it’s possible to skip the mission or am I just stuck at this part of the campaign? How many missions are in the campaign? I’d hate to miss out. I was having fun.
  15. Thank you. I have read that thread and it seems to be the exact same issue that I’m having but there doesn’t seem to be a resolution. I just downloaded DCS World beta last night and I’m gonna try the mission there to see if there’s any difference.
  16. I have tried flying around. I’ve also used time warp to speed things along just to make sure I’m not being impatient. One thing I notice every time is that my wing man helicopter is firing upon the small building for apparently no reason with no bad guys present. My wing man usually starts firing at that building right when Walker group comes out of the large building. It seems to make Walker group flee in a different direction before they even get a chance to advance the mission. The communications menu doesn’t give me a chance to tell my wing man to stand down. I’ve even tried shooting my wing man down on the way to the mission just so that they don’t interfere but that doesn’t seem to help either. I am at a loss.
  17. I need some help. I've had no problems with any of the Huey campaign missions so far. But the 14th mission where you are providing support to the armored unit and dropping guys off on the roof of a building seems glitched. Every time I get right to where I drop the guys off on the roof of the high rise and then they report that they see something of interest. They run in one direction and then turn and run north and just stand there forever looking at a building and the mission never progresses. Any thoughts? has anyone seen this?
  18. update: So I shot down my wing man at the base before takeoff to get them out of the way. Then I proceeded with the mission on my own. Once walker group came out of the high rise they started moving south but the turned around and ran north to stare at the other building again indefinitely. I have no idea what's going on but this mission is bugged. Does anyone know how to skip a mission so that I can keep playing the campaign?
  19. I am running the latest version of non-Beta 2.5. I am able to land on top of the building but the dead guys and my helicopter seem to think the roof is about 18 inches higher than it really is. Last night I was thinking about it and I’m wondering if the infantry guys are running to the proper building but are getting scared away by my wing man’s preemptive gunfire. So they run to the north and just stand there and stare at the wrong building. It’s as if my wing man is firing too soon in the script Before the infantry has a chance to discover the cache of weapons.
  20. I’m having the exact same issue the OP is having. Soldiers just stand there staring at nearby building. Every now and then wingman Huey lobs some bullets at a random small house near the large building that we landed on top of but no enemies appear to be by the small building. The campaign is just frozen here.
  21. Just wanted to give an update to all who have helped. It's me. I just overestimated the crank-ability of this thing. Being more gentle on the stick and avoiding 20 degree pitch and 90 degree banks have avoided the accelerated stalls I've been getting. Now, unless I've built up at least 260 kts, I keep banks to 2g and avoid pointing skyward and it conserves energy much better. I'm four missions in to the campaign and have been pretty effective at flying this thing. I think I was just used to flying fighters from my old falcon 3.0 days. Still have much to learn getting my feet wet with FC3 and DCS but I'm having a blast playing it with rift. Thanks again!
  22. I haven't looked at -1 charts. Where can I find them? I may have been over estimating the performance. It's surprising to me though that the airplane handles like that at max weight. I actually have a couple thousand hours flying the Canadair regional jet CRJ 200. It has the same engine as the A-10 except it's derated and it has the same Max gross weight. I feel like I got better performance out of the regional jet and those engines are derated. I did go into the mission editor and cut the fuel down to 25% and removed all of the armaments. I got to climb rate of 4500 ft./m at 240 kts. So it did handle much better when I lighten up the load. I've seen videos of this thing cranking in banking all of the battlefield so maybe I thought they could perform a little bit better than it does.
  23. I pulled up control indicator and it shows throttle going full forward. Back in the game now with unlimited fuel turned off as well as unlimited weapons. No change in aircraft handling. I went full power and climbed. @ 240kts I was only able to get 2,500 fpm climb with 15 degrees of pitch (On the ADI) AOA was showing 20. So I'm getting full thrust from my flight controls Engine gauges indicated 90 percent (pretty close to full power) Fuel gauges were showing 5.5k per side This thing still seems way under powered/ not handling properly. any suggestions? can someone try this mission and see if they get the same handling results? I'm at a loss. It seems impossible to fly this mission and be an effective ground attack aircraft when every time I turn or climb this thing wants to stall.
  24. Ok. I've got some detailed info to hopefully get to the bottom of this. I loaded up Gory Gori mission on FC3 with the A10A. Unlimited Fuel, Unlimited Ammo. The minute the mission starts I'm at: Angle of Attack 15.5 Holding level flight AOA soon goes to 19 and settles in there. I go Full Throttle on my x52. Looking down @ the thrust levers I see the large black handle attached to a stem which goes through a slot into the aircraft. When my x52 is full forward the lever/stem goes into the aircraft slot about 60% down the slot towards aircraft forward. I would think it would travel down the slot to the full forward position but I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like @ Max throttle. I keep my x52 full throttle for the following: In straight and level flight my max airspeed settles in around 305kts level @ 2500' with 10 degrees nose up pitch. 30 degree bank AOA is 20 @ 280 kts 60 degree bank level flight 240 kts Now I do a left crank and bank and keep altitude level. @ about 3g's I start to get the intermittent stall aural indication. It soon goes solid sounding. Within 5 seconds all my speed has bleed away I'm @ 150 kts pretty much stalling. Now I exit the mission and go to the Controls option. Under axis commands>Throttle common>axis tune> I move x52 forward and aft and it goes from corner to corner. Top right to bottom left. Seems to me that its working fine so I don't know why it feels like in the game I'm not getting full throttle. This just doesn't seem right. It's like the whole time I'm flying this A10A in the battlefield it's always just dying to stall at any attempt to turn and flying as if it's very underpowered. I've heard there's a way to pull up the joystick axis graphic in flight but can't find the command. Maybe that might help me determine if my throttle is not going full forward in the game?
