Because i am the dumb Its 1024x1024x256 = 268,453,456 rounded = 270 megabits ps? So it will use upto 270 of upload megabits Is there any real reason to change it? Or is this just a hold over from the past? What would doubbling the numbers give you? What numbers should you change if you want to adjust the numbers? Just the last one or the whole thing?

Yes, this, i only play about 20 games with regularity and i run servers for about 7 of them, dcs is the only game that has this issue I would also add that part of teaching basic internet security is "Dont trust anyone or anything that asks you to disable your AV or Firewall" we know that these are false positives and the files are 100% safe, but thats not the point, dont tell people on mass that they should disable security features, make sure your files are good before release And as a really good perk of doing that you dont get a thread like this

"Trust us bro" A question i have is what happens if we download a mod for dcs and install it into the folder we have exempted and then it runs, granted that downloading and installing the mod would be on the user for downloading it but if we didnt have the exemption in our AV we could have been protected, just a thought Ultimately this will go nowhere and well all just end up creating an exception for it
-
Oh great, so its our job now?
-
Yea its not great, especially given the nature of what a server is too Its a shame that ed have got to this point too
-
Thats the problem, the official work around is to ignore detections from the dcs folder, i wouldent hold your breath on a real solution
-
Id also add to this that this is the only game (and also server) that requires me to add an exception to windows defender in order to play and now even install an update for it

Correct, fix your product or dont release it, next youll be telling us to forward all ports and turn off our firewall to fix a small connection problem Im getting the same issue with edterrain4.dll - trojan:win32/savsik.fla!ml Worldgeneral.dll - same as above Flight.dll - program:win32/wacapew.c!ml This is not the first time these types of issues have cropped up and altho its just a false positive and the others have been too, ED should be trying to make sure there code is not being detected as a false positive, like the past few years where theres been no issues At the end of the day if we keep allowing these through what happens when an actual virus hits? There are plenty of instances of games being attack vectors out there

Ok there are many posts on the subject but none of them seem to offer a definitive answer and many are confusing, also many are very old, as old as dcs 1.5. i dont want to go necro posting so ill ask here Im setting up my new server and i want to make sure that im dialing all my settings in So how do i set the following net.download_speed = 1024*1024*256 net.upload_speed = 1024*1024*256 I want to understand these numbers Is there a formula to figure it out? What does each number represent? How do i increase these numbers for better performance? I currently have a 1gbps down 500mbps up connection that will soon be 2.5gbps semetrical, all over fiber, so i would like to make sure im getting the most from the server and connection Im hoping for a nice simple answer that i can understand and hopefully others can to

Ive just done a big refresh of my server to do some spring cleaning and an OS upgrade and as part of it i reinstalled the dcs server, And now it has one small issue All of my previous servers (over the past 5+ years) the server had automatically started the last active mission However as of the fresh install 2 days ago the server wont auto start anything, it just boots up and sits there offline untill i go in and manually run a mission This is a huge pain in the but Does anyone know how to get the server to auto start the last played mission or even the first mission in the list?

Im also seeing lag spikes on my dedicated server since the last patch, ive never had lag issues with this server but sicce this patch there are tones of them, its not my server, i know someone from ed is going to come on here and say its my server but i can say for sure its not, ive been running that server for 3 years now with no issues and the one i had before that also had no issues, latest patch, issues

Hi there, I run a server pc hosting dcs, right now if it want to interact with it I have to plug it into a screen and get a keybord and mouse to do it I don't open the webgui port up to the internet I was wondering is these a way to access the web gui on the server machine from another machine that's on the same network?

You are very welcome, if I get the time I'm planning to update it with the new dynamic spawn points, not sure when I will get round to it but it's planned. So pleased your enjoying the mission

Sorry to necro post but would it be possible to get a "special" settings option for this please? I would like to avoid using the hack you've posted if possible

Hi all, hope you are well, I'm having a bit of a weird connection issue connecting to my DCS OB Server. off the bat this issue only affects the DCS OB Server, no other servers are affected so what's happening? I run a small server for me and my friends to play games on, for network security, I have the server machine on a dedicated "guest" network that is separate from all other networks with no LAN/Intranet access, due to this setting I have to use my external IP address to connect to the server rather than the servers internal IP address. this is no trouble at all for my Arma 3 and Arma reforger servers with them I punch in the External IP and boom, connect easily, however, the DCS Server is not so lucky. If I put in the IP and Port in it it goes through to a generic loading screen but does not click over to the server loading screen and I can not see the PC trying to connect on the server dashboard. after the first attempt the ip connect option will not work again, however, I am now able to see the server in the server list (I should note at this point that the server is not public, we connect via IP) if I click on the server now listed in the server list it attempts to connect but won't connect and I do not see an attempted connection in the dashboard, same behavior as the first time I try to IP connect. again this is only an issue for DCS, other servers hosted on the same machine have no issue connecting at all. some more info... I only run one server at a time so when DCS is up only DCS is, none of the other servers, so there's no conflict there the correct ports are opened and forwarded, as other players can connect regardless of my connection method or issues other players are successfully connecting and playing using the exact same external IP that I am unable to connect with. had 6 on during one of the tests I did, and none of them had issues the "guest" network only has an access point and the server on it, nothing else I can connect to the server if I use a VPN on my PC, not an option I want to use The server has a static IP that works regardless of the connection type I can connect if I remove the LAN/Intranet Restriction on the "Guest" network, this just puts the server on the LAN and I can connect using the internal IP address, and this defeats the point of the security Im trying to keep I can also connect if I move the connection to a slot on my switch which is on a completely separate VLAN to my PC (I have to use the External IP to connect, not internal as it's on a separate VLAN) and of cores, I can connect if I put it on the same LAN as the PC (external or internal IP works this way) again, I do not have any of these issues with the other servers I host, I can connect to them on the separate "Guest" network using the external IP with no issues at all so as you can see it connects fine unless I'm using the separate "guest" network WITH the LAN restriction, I'm not sure where to go or what the issue could be any help or ideas are greatly appreciated, I'm not really sure what is going on or why, it's a bit weird anyway, hopefully someone here can help me, or at least report this as a bug maybe? Cheers guys
