This has given me something to think about, thank you very much for taking the time to answer

Many thanks guys for the great advice. I've looked at many videos and Chucks guide but completely forgot about the Manual that comes with the Sim (another senior moment). I remember playing Janes Apache Longbow many years ago and loved sneaking up on the enemy from behind a hill using the Fire Control Radar, I would love to do the again in DCS

Your two cents definitely apply to me and I agree with everything you said. I feel sometimes as a more mature combat simmer things are now moving away from my capabilities especially with aircraft like the very well simulated Apache.
-
Thanks for your comments, despite having been a long term DCS user I didn't think of using the DCS Early access manual, I have just relied on YouTube videos and Chuck's great guides

I have been flying the A-10C most of my time within DCS with some time on the KA-50 Blackshark 3, this is from the early days of DCS. I thought I need to learn another aircraft type so have been looking at the F/A-18C or the AH-64D. Scanning Chuck's guide for the Apache, I cannot see how anyone can master this very complicated aircraft. Can anyone give me any pointers how to start learning the systems and combat techniques of the AH-64D before I give up and learn the F/A-18C instead. Glen

Found them, thanks

I have just started the Iron Flag training campaign. As I have two monitors I would like to show the kneeboard on the other monitor either by moving it or using a PDF version. Any idea where the kneeboard for this campaign is located and is it in PDF format ?

Many thanks what you say makes sense. I hope ED looks at this and finds a way to prevent Ai using APKWS rockets on targets its not designed for i.e. Tanks or amend the radio command somehow.

I have been trying a couple of the Instant Action missions for training using the A-10Cii. I have noticed when I ask my wingman to attack tanks with Missiles he normally uses the APKWS M151L rocket and not the Maverick (he has 4 loaded). How can I force my wingman to use Mavericks against tanks
-
Thanks I didn't realise they changed the mission for the A-10C II, changing the time of day makes sense why the lighting is different :)
-
Thank you Hive for pointing that out, that was my question. Why is there a difference between the two A-10C variants in visibility, is this a modification to make the A-10C II more realistic ? BuzzU - I use zoom

When flying the A-10C I often use the 'Easy-East Georgia-Spring' instant action mission for refresher training, so I know this mission reasonably well. I have noticed when flying the A-10C II I can hardly see the two supply trucks until I'm practically on top of them, they appear to be a lighter grey and merge into the ground background, same for the Patrol (second target in mission). If I switch back to using the original A-10C the trucks are a lot more visible - very strange.

I'm currently using the Stable version of DCS 2.5 but as someone has already posted this version has not been updated since December. I appreciate the Beta version will include some bugs but I would like to try some of the new features added during the Beta process since December. How can I start using the current Beta version of DCS 2.5 ?

Many thanks for your feedback on the GBU-38. Its strange how some people have no problems using this weapon. I use the JDAM as per pages 563/564 of the A-10C user manual. The graphic of the HUD shows the aircraft at 6580 ft with the min and max carets far apart, this is how it was for me in the past but not now, at this height the two carets are barely apart. Thanks BIGNEWY, I hope the team look at this as a matter of urgency as its definitely floored compared to previous versions and I've been flying the Warthog from day one.
