  1. Hello, all. I am having a significant problem after installing DCS World  2.9.1.48335 Beta. This is how it all started. I want to fly multi-player with others, and I was told I needed to install the Beta version. Before, I was using the non beta version, and everything was working; I am using a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. One of the significant things that needs to be fixed when I do a ramp start is the Thotle doesn't respond, but if I start a mission in the air and move the throttle, it works. I also noticed that the DCS world non Beta in the control options shows F/A-18C Sim, but in the Beta, it only has F/A18C. What did I miss?

  2. Hello all I am just starting to train on DCS and the first aircraft I using is the F/A 18.  My problem is I am trying to practice the cold start and setup my Warthog.  I can setup Throttle (Left)-off/IIdle JOY_BTN30  and Throttle (Right) -off/Idle  JOY_BTN29  but when attempt to set the Throttle (Left)-Idle and Throttle (Right)- Idle it shows up Joy_BTN 30 AND JOY_BTN29 ARE IN USE.  What I want to do is when I do a cold start of the jet I will both throttles in off and when the engine spools up I want to move left and right throttle to the Idle position instead of using RIGHT-SHIFT+HOME.

If you get the 18 stick it will be default 1:1.
I've been using the Wharthog stick and love it. Technically more buttons with more tactile feedback. Issue when using it with the Hornet is that the stick hats lack a depress as you would need for the SCS.

When you say stick which one F16 or the F18?

Depends...for desktop use I hear the Hornet stick is poor ergonomics due to the angle of the upper portion.  The F16 stick has no differences that justify its price.

I agree I have the Megtech table mounts and this will not be an issue.  I can place the stick between my legs just like the F18, 15, 14, and A10.

  4. All,
I now have time to train and get serious with DCS. I have the Thrustmeter Warthog, and I will be mainly flying the F/A 18. Should I purchase the F/A 18 stick of stay with the F16 joystick? I will also be jumping in the F16 and 14 some time, but mostly the F/A-18. Also, if I go F18 joystick, who or where can I find some good stick profiles?

    Thanks

    Hi,

for sure it is a matter of preference, but also familiarization. I startet in the F-16 and always flew side stick. I converted to the A-10C but got sticked at the side stick configuration and also fly the Hornet like this. It better fits my personal situation with an office desk and chair. A center stick does not really fit in front of my chair. Only if you have it quite high but I fly with an extension of 7cm. The benefit of a center stick is, that you can easily switch hands when working on the MFDs or with the mouse. I need to use the Autopilot a lot not to go down with the plane when heads down.

    Take care,

    Xoxen

("The benefit of a center stick is, that you can easily switch hands when working on the MFDs" ) I didn't think of it in that way but for that reason I may go center stick because I am using the Thrustmaster MFD'S and I do have a attachable mouse table were I can use my mouse.

when flying sidestick, where would be your mfds located?

I have the the Monstertech MFD addons, at the moment, I have the left MFD connected on the inside of the Throttle Table bracket and the right MFD is connect to the inter bracket of the right table bracket.  If I go center stick I will connect the MFD'S  to the left and right side of the table mount for the stick.

  7. Hello all just looking for opinions for the title above.  This is what I have.  I have the  Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and 2 MFD'S that is attached to Monstertech table mount and MFD mounts.  I will or will flighting A10, F/A18, F16 and maybe F-15 a and F-14.  The three main aircraft F/A18 F-16 and the A-10.  My present setup is that the I have the stick off to right like the F-16  but I thinking of placing the stick between my legs like the F/A18.  The other thing I was think of is also purchasing the F/A18 stick and all I have to do is just swap out the stick per aircraft I am flying.   Opinions appreciated.

  8. Hello All and Happy New Year.  Today I update DCS World to the latest version and now it on show the "Aircrafts name is not authorized to be used with your account" Please, provide a valid serial number"  It now show that I  have seven aircraft on the bottom instead all the other aircraft that is available.  In the Module Manager it shows about twenty aircraft install.  Dose this mean that they are install but I just have to purchase them to activate them?  What are the standard aircraft that comes with DCS World?  I have the A-10C, C-101, F-15C, F-16C, F-5E, F/A=18C and the TF-51D.  I also purchased the Nevada and Persian  Gulf.

  9. Hello all, As I posted a little over a month ago I am getting back into flight-sim after about six years of being away. I have Thrustmaster Warthog and MFD’S all attached to the Monstertech Joystick / Hotas Table mount. I love the mounts, but the only problem is they keep me a little too far away from the table to reach the keyboard and mouse. They do sell a keyboard and mouse mounts but that maybe a little too much. I was thinking about purchasing just the mouse attachment, but I am still looking for other options. Now, this is where help from you all here on the forum. The planes I will be mostly flying are A10 the F/A 18 and the F16. How much do you really use the keyboard and mouse in the sim? Any suggestions.
