The Flight Instrument Brightness Knob does not seem to be functioning correctly. It is a rotary dial, but it behaves like an on/off switch, with no adjustment in between. It also seems to operate in reverse (turning counter clockwise makes them bright, turning clockwise in the direction of the BRT arrow makes them dim) Picture shows the dial I am referring to:

Hi, it seems this bug has been semi-fixed - it is now possible to run out of fuel with SEM turned off, however it is now possible to have infinite fuel with SEM turned on

One guess would be you are rearming/refuelling whilst aligning, or the wake turbulence of a plane taking off near you may be making the plane rock slightly

I am able to place helipads in the sea from the mission editor, and spawn on them. Is this intended? I have a clean 2.7 install with only some 3rd party skins installed for mods.

The helicopter bases on the Syria map have the cutest little runways

On P47D_Fuz_Front - the layer "green" for the anti glare paint on the top of the fuselage is on it's own layer. However, on the rear section (P47D_Fuz_Rear), that same paint is on the layer "350th FS - LH" which also has other paint around it.
This is fine if leaving that green paint as it is, but if you want to change that colour by selecting it, or remove parts/all of it for some reason, it makes doing so tricky as it has a soft edge. It can sometimes make adjusting roughmet files tricky too if you want to remove all or part of it
So, just as a small tweak to the template - could we have a separate "green" layer on the rear fuselage template to match the front?

Not for me, I just want a headset I can put on and play without having to deal with all the social media bloat, or being forced to have a facebook account to use it

With SEM (simplified engine managment) turned off, the MiG-21's engine can run indefinitely, even after the fuel runs out. I was able to replicate this quite consistently online (blue flag PG server) but I could not replicate it on single player. Starting from a cold and dark, fully fuelled jet.
The fuel gauge will get to zero and engine will continue running, unless you stall the engine/turn it off in flight and it will not be possible to start it again.

this sort of piecemeal pick and mix approach is an un-necessary barrier to participation.One solution to this is to make DCS servers linked to a central livery database on ED's servers. Whenever you join a server with skins that you don't already have - it will download them, and when someone else joins the server with a skin that you don't have, again it will download them.
I used to play a racing sim where this was the case, and not being able to see someone elses skin was never an issue - except skins for that game were about 1-2mb and the skins we deal with today in DCS are a lot bigger.
Most people's connection speeds who play online is fast enough to download most DCS skins in a couple of seconds though so I think it could be viable.
That way no one misses out on other skins on the server. To stop hard drive space getting filled up, the MP skins delete themselves after disconnecting, and if you actually want to keep the same skin you can just download it yourself as normal

Your engines must be turned off, you will usually get a message in the corner of the screen telling you why they cannot rearm you, try the engines first and make sure they have stopped turning then try asking the crew again

Thanks for hosting this competition - we've seen some excellent submissions and it's gonna be tricky to decide 10 out of all of these
Is there an approximate time of when the winners will be announced? I can appreciate it will take a while to go through all the submissions but I can't wait to see the results!- 1

A little last minute, but here's something I had an idea for today and thought I'd enter it.. Not much chance against some of the amazing liveries in here but worth a shot

External power unit levitating

The external power generator is levitating off the ground slightly. I've tried on a few maps and airfields and the issue is the same. I know its incredibly minor, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.
