  1. This is going to be a great patch, especially fully functional CBU-97 and CBU-105 and improved HAI.

    One question regarding HAI:

"• If it appears impossible to engage targets from safe distance, the HAI will make only one short attack (one missile launch / rocket salvo or cannon burst per run. ) from maximum range of that weapon and then breakaway to make new attack if required."

Does that mean that if Mi-24 equiped with only rockets detects enemy group including Sa-8, it will still try to engage SA-8 with rockets (and get shot down because SA-8 has 8km range) or will Mi-24 turn away and find another group/RTB and stay away from SA-8 (as it should)?

  2. This are my favorites:

-Wingmen Engagement logic improved when threats are in target area. Better self-preservation.

-Wingmen now better engage targets around player SPI when give "Engage With..." command.

-Tor, 2S6, and Osa search radar RWR indications fixed.

-Reported errors in campaigns have been fixed.

And of course JTAC and multiplayer fixes.

  3. Out of curiosity I must ask:

Is JTAC attack from Bearing message just randomly created message for player immersion (and can be ignored) or is it created depending on enemy units.

Also, does attacking from wrong bearing influence Jtac in saying abort?

  4. I didn't even touch the campaigns because of the AI problems others are reporting. Will also wait for next patch.

Miz file can be opened with winrar (open with).

Spectre, I guess easier solution would be to edit the mission and remove the migs (or change the % of them spawning).

  5. Hello Jimmy and welcome to the forums!

All this questions were already answered in similar threads so search is your friend.

    Short answers:

    1. No. HUD Drift. It is normal with crosswind

    2. That is normal

    3. TMS left short to remove the message. But first see what is message about.

  6. Pretty interesting documentary; interview with Serbian Mig-29 pilots during 1999 Nato bombing of Yugoslavia.

Their old Mig-29s were malfunctioning/not working (RWR, Radar, not being able to launch missiles, navigation etc.) and they could carry only short range missiles. They were scrambled to attack Nato planes. They hoped they could close the distance and attack with R73s which were better than NATO IR missiles.

Usually they could not contact navigation officer on ground. NATO planes shot numerous missiles at them and they managed to evade most of them.

Some of them were shot down by NATO planes (and/or friendly fire?). They also tell their stories about ejecting and rescue. Funniest rescue: one peasant in village where one pilot landed said: "me and my wife were watching Mexican soap opera Esmeralda on TV. I was outside of house and I saw a flash in the sky. At that moment my wife said Esmeralda fell from the horse. I said not only Esmeralda; something else fell form the sky. Our plane is falling and Esmeralda is falling from the horse".

I love it when they fly low to avoid being detected by NATO planes and their navigation officer asks them repeatedly to report position

Pilots also added that they wish their planes were in better shape and upgraded to carry medium range missiles.
