  1. Well...I've tried it on all 4. Each time the installer (or device manager) reinstalled drivers. I've tried to uninstall all drivers but (and this is where my knowledge of Vista fails me) there seems to be a repository in /Windows/DriverStore or one of its subdirectories that stores original install files. So uninstalling each driver in Device Manager doesn't delete all files and I cannot delete them in Safe Mode (I guess booting to command prompt is next but this will be a PITA with all of the files installed). I know I'm missing something and more research should eventually fix the problem but sucks to spend all the time and effort with an OS that is purported to be Plug and Play. My plan of attack is to delete/uninstall everything OR restore from a previous backup point to before I started all of this nonsense and then try again.
  2. Thanks much...that was quick! I already knew about that sequence. I'm trying to get the X52 PRO up and running on Vista 64-bit and I'm having a documented problem. Everything installed (according to installer) but "Profile Launcher" is non functioning and taskbar icon does not load. Furthermore, profile editor will not load or test profiles. Additionally, the Magic Bus Drivers eventually loaded but in FSX the thumb mouse on the throttle unit is nonfunctioning. Controller works but with no preloaded profile and missing some parts of control panel (dim lights for one). I've actually considered retrofitting the whole setup on my old XP box (but that necessitates another $150 in hardware, minimum, just to see if it will run with acceptable frame rates); the controller loaded and works wonderfully on older simulators. Don't want to return the controller--mostly because I added the extended warranty cheap on an item that is guaranteed to break sooner than later (in my experience). If I hear from Saitek Tech Support or find another solution I'll post it here for posterity.
  3. Can anyone detail the procedure in the provided link? Saitek forum administrators are AWOL...cannot register and cannot view post unless registered. Anyone care to post the details of the procedure linked below?
