  1. Yeah, as I said I don't have the tools to open them up. I'd really just like to set up the toe brakes onto a single axis.
  2. I am attempting to use my toe brakes on a single rudder axis. After searching google the only relevant link I found is here and the end result from following those directions is exactly what the guy at the bottom describes. The left pedal is the only one that works and you have to keep it pressed half way for 0 input. I can't figure out what the problem is and would appreciate some help figuring this out. I can't use the rudder pedals because it is extremely jumpy and unusable, I don't have the tools to take apart my pedals and clean the potentiometer.
  3. yes to all of the above, I just succesfully used the quick views for the mfds, I didn't know about using the numpad after hitting kp_0. It worked much much better and I was able to spot targets for once.
  4. I still keep ignoring the SAMS because I can't find them lol, even with labels I put my tgp on the label and there is nothing there..is it something to do with my graphics settings or what? I'd love to fly online with someone that can walk me through this here and help me out.
  5. There was a wedding cake on my tad in their position, at the time I didn't know how to mark it as spi and lock it up though. It only happened that one attempt and never again since. I just tried this mission again and at bunker 5 I got shot down by an SA-13 and 19 with no warning, all the while I was popping flares..
  6. jeff, I use a trackir and the quickview for mfd didn't seem to do anything, I tend to just move my head towards the mfd to get a better look. As far as searching with the tgp, even when I know exactly where the enemies are I have a hard time finding them. It's very frustrating, on this particular mission there are a group of sams north of the river and I can never find them with my tgp, there was one instance where they showed up on my tad and at that time I didn't know how to get my tgp to a specific area on my tad. I think I know how to do that now, but since that one time nothing has popped up on my tad for me to take advantage of.
  7. here is a link to a track of me attempting the river run mission. I'd appreciate it if anyone could watch and tell me how I could be more effective and do things more efficiently and also not die every time I try this. Even though I manage to destroy 5/6 bunkers I completely ignore the air defenses, mostly because I have an impossible time finding them without using labels. The track is only about 10 minutes long and I'd appreciate any tips you could offer me. DISCLAIMER: This might be painful for some people to watch as I am very much still learning this sim lol.
  8. Quoting and responding to this post so I can have it saved, thanks a lot!
  9. Taken from one of StrongHarm's linked posts: 2. TGP AG - Besides the obvious 'slew around till you hit paydirt' aspects, there are a few things I like to do: *Hit CTRL+kpd0 then kpd6 to view only the right MFD *Use coolie down to swap MFDs often and check your position on the TAD *Change from BHOT to WHOT to CCD often to reveal targets by contrast *Turn your gain all the way up (OSB 19/20?) then back 1 or 2 until the terrain isn't washed out. This will make objects jump out nicely. *Refocus often (DMS Left Short) *Change FOV wide/narrow often
  10. I think the most recent incident was a SAM. The threat warning was beeping for about 2 seconds and then boom, I was spinning to the dirt. I know the IP is the initial point and not the actual location of the targets. Even when I do a quick mission and review the mission plan to see where targets are supposed to be(usually sp 1 from my experience) I scan the area and never find anything before it's too late. The only reason I've been succesful with the instant action(on easy) is because the targets are exactly on each steerpoint and very easy to spot.
  11. So I've gone through the tutorials and become familiar enough to deploy all the a-g weapons and use the tgp. I've done the instant action mission enough times to be able to effectively complete it on easy up to the part where you need to use JTAC(which is something I still need to learn). Anyway, my problem is when I try to do an actual mission I'll fly towards the ip all the while searching for targets with the tgp and before I know it I'm getting shot down without ever spotting a single target. This has happened to me several times with the quick mission generator now. I'll search for targets all over the steerpoint where they are supposed to be according to the briefing and never spot a single vehicle before I'm on top of the sp and getting shot down. I'd really like to get with an online squadron and do some missions so I can have someone talking me through things, what am I doing wrong?
  12. Well "center" on a real collective ideally gives the blades enough pitch to maintain a given altitude, thanks for the help.
  13. Does anyone with a ch pro throttle use this option for the throttle in the control manager while flying black shark? It seems like it would make more sense to use this mode and have a little bit of dead zone in the center so the throttle can act more like a collective. I've tried enabling it though and it doesn't seem to make much, if any difference. Do I have to do something in game as well?
  14. I had an x52 for a few years with only minor issues and no real complaints. I recently bought a ch fighterstick and throttle setup and the difference is noticeable right away. If you've never had a hotas and don't have a big budget, the x52 is going to be great, more so if you don't have pedals. However, the ch fighterstick is unbeatable in terms of feel and accuracy compared to the 52. The only downside is it doesn't have stick twist which wasn't an issue for me because I already had the ch pedals. In short: if you can afford it get a ch setup, if you don't have or don't want to spend the money on it then go x52. Either way you won't be disappointed.
  15. First of all this sim is amazing, loving it so far. I have noticed a minor sound bug and was wondering if anyone else had noticed it as well. When first entering the cockpit, the engine and rotor sound as if the door is open(this happens whether you do a cold start or the engines are already going) toggling to external F2 and then the cockpit F1 view immediately fixes this and the sounds again sound as they should when inside a closed cockpit. Has anyone else noticed this?
