Dear Virtual Pilots, LockOn Greece / DCS World Greece Virtual Squadron is pleased to announce that mid January 2026, we intend to start a Sequential PvP Mission in Persian Gulf map that uses DSMC script in order to save mission’s current progress. Limit airbases, airborne, ground and surface units and weapons, CTLD, CSAR, EMCON, RECCE and ASW are giving a completely realistic experience to the participants. In the attached pdf file you have a detailed presentation of the concept. In this context, we are looking forward to find an EU located Sqn that is interested to participate. Please do not hesitate to contact me SMC Land of Bad 2026 v2.pdf -
DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
Panthir replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Dear Cfrag, Thank you very much for what you have done for us. All mine and our virtual squadron’s missions are based on DML modules. Although your decision is a disaster for the mission editors, I completely understand your disappointment and I am sure I would do the same, in case I were in your position. For me that I am involved in DCS since the Lockon 1.0 era, DML was revolutionary. Many Thanks =GR= Panthir -

Dear Cfrag, In the following simple mission I spawn a static object (Tech Combine). Is there any way via DML when the spawned static object is destroyed to bang a flag? Random Tech Combine.miz -

demo - CSAR of Georgia with Enemy Capture.miz For those that they are interested in, here is a modified DML DEMO CSAR mission with capturing enemy pilots function enabled as well. When you approach in shooting range, the Pilot shoots you. The captureRadius in csarEnemyCaptureExtension.lua is setup at 1000 meters. So, If you land at 1000meters from the pilot you get a message that you captured him. And then you can evacuate him to the closer CSARBASE. You can carry both enemy and friendly pilots. You can setup a specific score for teh POW pilots. The only issue up to know is that I want to modify the messages in order to know the pilot's coalition. -- CONFIGURATION local captureRadius = 1000 -- meters local captureCategory = "Captives" local captureScore = 10 -- Optional score to award when delivered -

Dear Cfrag, I have some interesting news. Me and Pogon from Lock On Greece we managed to add a Capture Enemy Pilots Option in DML CSAR. In this context, initially we modified the stock csarManager2.lua in order all downed pilot RED and BLUE to be visible in F-10 menu - Other - CSAR - List Active CSAR missions. Then we created an additional module, the csarEnemyCaptureExtension.lua that adds the enemy capture functionallity to the CSAR (it has to be loaded as the other DML modules). In the script you can configure the follwing: -- CONFIGURATION local captureRadius = 1000 -- The radius in meters that when you land from the enemy pilot is deactivated and it is loaded in the HELO as POW via (supercargo) local captureScore = 10 -- Optional score to be awarded when delivered to a CSARBASE. We tested in a mission and we had the following results: a.All downed pilots are visible to both coalitions via the F-10 menu. b.When you land inside the capture radius you get a message that the pilot is captured and you can see him via the F-10 menu as being on board. c. When you land at a CSARBASE you get a relevant message and a 10 point score and the pilot is disembarked. d. You can embark both enemy and friendly pilots. We saved 2 enemies and 1 friend and we got 25 points (10 per enemy an 5 for the friend). e. The friendly Pilots are launching flare and give vectoring info. The enemy pilot correctly don't but he shoots. f. The enemy pilot shoots with his machinegun the helicopter (this an issue and that is the reason that we set the captureRadius to 1000 meters to avoid the helicopter to be damaged by the enemy pilot). We unsuccesfully tried to add an extra option, so the enemy downed pilot to be SET in GREEN STATE and WEAPON HOLD when a RESCUE helo (troopCarriers) is inside a specific radius. A realistic option would be e.g to be allowed to shoot only for 10seconds only and then to be set to WEAPONS HOLD or to be set IN GREEN STATE by default. In this contect the captureRadius could be set to closer distances or to be the same as they are set for the friendly pilots (hoverRadius, hoverAlt, hoverDuration etc). g. Another option that we didn't manage to do is in front of the downed pilots message to get the coalition info e.g. (BLUE) X32 downed Pilot etc. The same for the active CSAR mission list. I am sure that you can adopted Enemy Capture CSAR Extension in DML with config zones and attributes. Moreover, an excellent idea would be to connect it with RECON module. So, when you capture and evacuate in a friendly CSARBASE an enemy pilot (despite the playerscore option), you will be able to get RECCE info (F10 map marks on enemy units in specific trigger zones either immediately or after a specific time period e.g. 300secs). This option would simulate interogation results As it is it works perfectly, but I am sure that you can do miracles. Cheers csarEnemyCaptureExtension.lua csarManager2 plus enemy capture.lua -

Hello Cfrag, Although verbose in SSBclientConfig is false, I was getting a very annoying (as a VR user) message everytime a client was getting a new slot and I tried to modify the SSBClient.lua in order to disable it. Here is a modified version but I am sure that you can tweak it by adding a relevant true or false attribute, to yours instead. First tests are ok. It seems it doesn't affect SSBclient usage. Have a nice day mate!!!!null SSBClient_cleaned.lua -

You are completely right. Of course it could be done manually via rules, but you would have to have more than one guy to keep the maintenance times for all assets. Almost impossible. So, that the reason that we need such a script or module to do it automatically. It is not a matter of trust or agreement between friends but a matter of practicality. Maybe you misunderstood. The maintenance is applied to the aircrafts or landed HELO and not to clients. It not a matter of clients to agree that they will stay grounded for example 20 minutes to simulate maintenance (this is crew rest). The aircraft is set under maintenance and the clients can get immediately another asset if available and fly. Who will keep the maintenance time countdown for several assets landed in different times. You will have to organise a real logistic office manned with several guys to track all those data manually -

The idea of maintenance, despite the fact that it can be customised in accordance to the squadron's needs, we intend to use it in PvP Dynamic Campaigns missions that last 2 1/2 hours. We invested in limited assets and weapons and we extensively use the limitedAirframes in conjuction with CSAR to simulate the lack of pilots and force the oponent coalition to invest in CSAR mission to recover ejected Pilots in order to be able to use all available slots. Maintenance is what it was mising in our case. Unfortunately, in DCS World when a F-16 lands can be airborne again in less than 3 to 5 minutes. In real life, the maintenance personnel is not unlimited and the weapons need time consuming assembly and transportation. Moreover, the refueling vehicles are not unlimited and a lot of time is needed for them to be refilled. In this context, if you are able to apply a 10-15 minutes maintenance delay, the coalition that will not take it in account in its ops planning in order to maximise sustainabilty, will gift the opponent with opportunity windows to achive its mission objectives. Of course it in not practical in DCS to apply a 45 minutes or 60 minutes maintenance delay, as it maybe in real life. Especially for @DD_Friar, that most probably didn't understood the whole concept, I would like to highlight that if a Sqn for example during a 2:30 mission has available 18 F-16s in an airbase and the coalition has 10 clients flying the F-16, when they land (let's say that only 8 of 10 managed to land) there will be for the the second shortie, for an immediate take off, only 8 available aircrafts. The other 8 will be available after the maintenance time pass and so on for the rest of the mission. But, why to adopt such a philosophy in my game? What is the reason? Despite realism reasons, that's a motivation for your virtual pilots to optimise fuel and weapons management, for the mission commanders to plan wisely to maximise sustainablity. Morever, those that they will not be able to get a anymore F-16 slots they contribute to the mission as CSAR pilots, or by flying other aircrafts or HELO. This is the way of thinking for DCS World in Lock On Greece / DCS World Greece. In my opinion, maintenance is something that it is missing from DML (as it was ASUW, RECON and others as well) and it could add a very valuable option for those that they will to invest in realism.
