I tend not to complain about this as it seems like nobody cares, and no devs seem to actually try to fix it I understand that. After a day of messing around, my particular issue seems to be solved. Firstly, I was trying to save a game in Mission Editor, Could not as it would not let me access C: Drive. The Message was "Can not write to file: C:\\Users\Name\..etc". Then me dump out of the game The aircraft icon as a side note, was tagged the map as "DICT_KEY#". i.e no assigned name on it. To solve this problem, well, I am not exactly sure. But I went into each file in C drive and authorized them as Administrator, through Properties\Security\Edit etc.... No idea how that was removed in the first place. The game is back, but I am still going uphill after I impulsively uninstalled/reinstalled last night. Today reinstalling everything and getting back to my original settings

I am getting frustrated with this same issue. In mission Editor I setup a scenario and click YES to save, get a message "can not write to file: C:\User\name\saved games\DCS etc... I do have the save file outside of the game. Have tried giving the file admin rights etc. uninstalled and reinstalled game, including a new saved game file...Second time around now and no change Any help?

Did a search of this forum and did not any mention of this...not a big deal really.. but the primer pump handle is pointing the wrong way. The placard behind shows 'ON OFF' at the 12:00-1:00 position, and the arrow on the handle is approx. the 6:00 to 7:00 position when in or out

If I may add to this thread. I agree the engine is too quiet. For example, sitting on the taxiway, engine running and the canopy open I can hear birds chirping in the trees about 30m away. Not very realistic either way

Hello...Is there anyone who can give my old brain a step by step installation? I followed the described "routing" to the Saved Games folder... ie the "C drive/user/name/savedgames/DCSopenalpha/mods/aircraft" ...but still cannot find the aircraft in game. Three thoughts come to mind. 1. This folder in my C Drive is called DCS openBETA not ALPHA, I do not have other older versions of this sim installed 2. I did not have a Mods folder in my "C-drive/user/name/savedgames/DCSopenbeta/mods/aircraft" folder, so I created one for this. 3. I have DCS2.5 beta on a different drive, that I operate the from. It is not a STEAM version

I am so frustrated with this game. I am by no means a licensed helicopter pilot but I have flown rotary wings in the past, and even in a Huey, with instructors. Not one of these aircraft that I was in was even remotely CLOSE to the flight dynamics of this crap. These things are UNCONTROLLABLE in this game I have spent the better part of a day rearranging and tweaking the hell out of these controls and cannot get a stable flight. The P51 and the new beta Huey, especially, just goes bezerk when power is added. The P51 for example (top fighter of WW2 my ass,) it cannot turn worth a shit with out going out of control, no matter what settings I use, and it is so unstable that the enemy just waits for you to impact the ground and the fights over.. .. I am giving up on this crap. I have deleted my profiles, reset them, tweaked them, fine tuned the axis over and over again. I Give up. There I said it.... apology to follow when I have cooled down.:huh:

Hello; I have one question I can t find an answer to, here. Am I to assume that I uninstall the A10, Ka50 Black Shark and the P51D (that I previously purchased and own,) and then install DCS World, after that ,they will all (A10 Ka50 P51D) appear in one program??

I should have included that my TrackIR is up to date . It even has DCS:A10C included in the list of Titles. It is set to default and that is what I am using in the Profiles.

What does this mean "run in 32 bit (x86) version"?? I am running the latest downloaded beta version of DCS A-10 on a Windows 7-64 bit version now? But I have no TrackIR.

OK! Lots of info here! ...Thanks for all the great help and advice. I will go through these ideas and try them out. Then of course, let everyone know what happens. Unfortunately, I will be a while, I am busy with other work right now, looks like until Monday.....(always in the way) but I will get to it soon! I am going crazy waiting to try this Helo.

Hello again....AHHH Vista! thanks for the responses. I see now why I don't get the UAC thingy as they said. Thats great. As for space on the hard drive. I just tried another drive. I have 2 and the second "E": drive has approx.470 Gb available. According to the installer that is enough space. Still the same result. BUT when I ask to show details for the aborted installer, the message is consistently...."Ship texture BMP failed.." I have a feeling I am not arranging the two files, the exe. and the data.cab files, in the right places..??
