So I tried with IPv6. It doesn’t work or I don’t understand anymore… Why is it so complicated
-
They upgraded my router to IPv6. I will try with this. Crossing fingers because I already bought the AH-64…
-
Wan Ip seems to be 51.XXX
-
Here we go. That’s my router: Link

Thanks a lot for the answer.
I expected more people in the same situation than me, but maybe I did something wrong. Do you have a website to check the port was forwarded?
In the worst case, I will indeed use an empty training server! Thanks for the info.
-
I have to admit that I don’t fully understand yet the “port forwarding”, but we called our internet provider and got the confirmation that we cannot port forward. So hosting is not an option.

Dear all
I want to offer the DCS Apache to a friend. As this is a multicrew aircraft, the idea was to play/traine together, always on the apache in multiplayer.
Now we tried the first option, which is to host a serveur. This is not possible as both of our routers cannot « port forward »(public IP only).
I’m now unsure what other options we have to train/fly together in the same Apache online.
Is someone in the same situation and found a workaround?

I finished the campaign yesterday. I found this campaign very good.
I learned a lot and enjoyed it. There are here and there some bugs, but a lot less than in Enemy Within 3.0. I found this campaign also a lot easier than the A-10 Enemy within 3.0.
Thanks!

How I manage to finish the mission:
When the mission starts, just stay on course(not in afterburner), let Weed do the Job. Take altitude to increase the range of the Aim-120 . When you see a 29 on your EW, turn 180° and use your Aim-120 to kill him. Evade his missile. You maybe need to kill one remaining F-4. With this, the mission’s difficulty changes from impossible to easy. The air to air refueling is easy .

Don‘t worry, this pain is insignifiant compared to the immersion you guys build! Since more than a year, everytime I start my computer, it’s only for a baltic_dragon campaign.
Thanks for that!

Sadly, this is still not fixed.
It‘s really frustrating to do a nearly 2h mission and end up 3miles in front of the carrier without fuel just because no tanker is available…
Why did it happen? Because I kept in mind (mission 08): „think about your wingman‘s fuel“. I then had to wait behind the tanker because the wingman took my turn. After the wingman finished refueling, the tanker S3 just runs away and lands on the carrier. I followed him, and came to 0 fuel just before reaching the carrier…
I flipped out!!!!
From now on, no more Mr Nice Guy!
-
For me it works just fine. I had to wait some time but then she drops the bombs.

Same issue here, no unofficial mods installed. I have just hornet/A10C& A10C2, supercarrier/persian gulf.
What I realized however in mission04 is that there was absolutely no LSO grade for the recovery landing on the carrier.
-
During the first refueling there are some messages of carrier recovery landing score. Strange.
After refueling complete, no one talks and nothing happens. I think also my wingman somehow disappeared.
After reaching waypoint 6 with no action, I decided to exit the mission.
I could not restart after refuel but it restarted on the carrier.
I guess I will load from 3a then… -
Hi all
I'm Flanky83. I'm not completely new in DCS, I started DCS in 2019 with the hornet. I'm now flying A-10 and F/A-18 hornet.
My love for aviation started, a long time ago, with the F/A-18 hornet 2.0 on Mac. I was very young, but tried very hard to understand all the complex procedures of this aircraft. I also spend some time with A-10 Attack and Cuba. Not to forget Apache longbow 2.
As my country just received F/A-18 hornets, I tried to become a fighter pilot. I passed several tests and ended up with 2 weeks flight school on the C-172, payed by the army . It was hard but very interesting. As I had no experience of flying, I didn't pass the tests and was not selected to fly on the hornet. That was hard to take, but I continued my passion and became mechanical engineer.
I rediscovered my dream with the DCS F/A-18 hornet in VR! I'm very glad for this! I have now the Thrustmaster Warthog with hornet grip for full immersion ;-).
Between Job, family and friends, it is hard to find time to fly. My progression on the hornet is therefore very limited. But the goal is clear: "being able to fly as close as possible to real hornet pilots".
Good-speed!

I tried with the T.flight hotas X for weeks. No chance.
I changed to warthog and it worked in 3days.
Throttle and stick are just easier on the warthog.
-
You need a Thrustmaster wathog or Virpil. Everything lower than that you don’t stand a chance.
What helped me:
-Talk with someone in the background or listen to a movie.
-Be trimmed at the required speed and altitude
-Once trimmed, I imagine it like a lunar module docking(watch Apollo 13 movie). You give some tiny impulse on the stick to change your airplane’s course. Really the minimum the joystick can(I have warthog with hornet add-on). Move it and let it back to neutral.
-A lot of people will contradict me, but I look at the basket most of the time.
-If you feel you will miss the basket, reduce a bit the throttle and give time to the GE engine, they are slow to react.

also, in case it hasn't been mentioned already, i'd highly recommend training AAR just 10min per day over a week, rather than only week-ends for hours and hours.
Couldn’t agree more.
This is exactly what I did, 20min aerial refueling every day. Not more.
First 2-3days, I didn’t manage at all. I then disabled the wake turbulence. The next day first contact and 5seconds refueling. At the end of the week I managed full refueling with 5 attempts.
I also failed at the beginning because I used the rudder to correct. Then I used only the stick and throttle. If you ask me(no pilote), don’t use the rudder!

@impalor thanks for the link. I’m not using any other VR menu to start DCS than Oculus. Empty the Hangar is however a very good Idea, but after I googled it, I realized that it could also messed things up.

Hi Gryzor
It is independent of the day time in the simulation.
I had flat shadows enabled. I switched it off, it helped a bit, but it is still there.
90° left roll, if I turn my head (VR) to the ground, there it is: micro stuttering. Does not happen when on the airfield parked and looking left and right.
-
Any news on this topic? Case II MISSION in supercarrier.
-
I run on HP Obelisk 875:
-Intel i7-8700CPU @ 3.2GHz
-32GB RAM
-Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070
-VR oculus Quest2
Windows11
DCS settings: Low
Module: F/A-18 Hornet
Issue: at low altitude when looking left or right in direction of the ground the image is stuttering. Same when a jet comes in opposite direction and I follow it left or right side of the cockpit.
I will try to provide a track play. Thanks a lot.

Exact issue as what?

I have the exact same issue.
Any update on this?
I will try on Flight Simulator2020 with the Super Hornet and see if I get the same issue.
By the way, I have a RTX-2070. Everything is smooth except when I look right or left to the ground. I‘m using vr quest2.
I also put everything on low but nothing improved.
AH-64D how to play with a friend without « port forwarding »
in DCS: AH-64D

Some update on my side.
I spend several hours with some expert from support.
It turned out, I have a dedicated public address. It’s not shared. So all should be ok. We tried port forwarding the port 10308, but all checks done on portchecker.co/checking showed that the port is closed. They didn’t understand it, and told me that the port is open.
Now I got it. Of course the port is closed. The port is only existing when I create a multiplayer server. I learned a lot during this exercise! Best training ever!
I’m sorry for it. All is good!
Now: “get to the Choppaaaa”
