  1. Thanks for your replies. I have watched some of Growling Sidewinders videos, and I can for sure recomment them. About turning speed, It was a thing I wasn't thinking about before now. I can see that I before began the merge with speeds around 450-500 kts, because I thought high speed was essential. Now I understand the importence of the right turning speed. Before I also think I was pulling the flightstick to much back, and turning the aircraft to much vertical, so I wasn't aware of loosing too much speed, then buzy with visually follow the opponent. Thank you Henrik
  2. Hello! I looking for help and advices to have succes in dogfights with guns only. I´m an experienced DCS pilot, but mainly flown a/c and heli, where air to ground missions are the priority. Dogfight haven't really interrested me before now, maybe because I don't really know that do do. I have a little more succes with missiles, but they also fly towards the target, like the gun don't. It is not specific for the F/A-18C, but I'm begun with the Aggressor BFM campaign, there I fly the Hornet. Sometime, I have succes, sometime not, and to be honest, I don´t know why and that I do right/wrong. I am looking for advices from the beginning. (I will mention that I only fly in single player). Your opponent are 10 miles away in front of your nose, fly directly towards you, and at the same level, What are you doing from here? regards Henrik
  3. Dear all It is so wonderful to see and read all your replies to my post. So nice to hear all your knowledge. Can only be thankful I will wish you all a happy new year. best regards henrik
  4. Thanks CBStu for your explanation. It is not because I don’t know how to change weapons in the DCS F/A-18C, it is more the miss of realism. If you change weapons, by F8 rearming, how does the aircraft know you have done it? In DCS A-10C, you have to reconfigure the aircrafts computer, so it know what weapon there are on each pylon. It is more realistic, I think. I know how to edit waypoints, but my point is, that you have to have at least one engine running, to have the DDI’s turned on, so you can edit them, or other things on the DDI’s. It can’t be good for the environment, or the engines life cyclus. regards Henrik
  5. Long time user of DCS, and a lot of different aircraft flown. Especially the A-10C, which I have always love most. I have the last month or so, begun to learn the F/A-18C, and to now, I like the module very much as well. I have some questions, which for many surely isn't importent, and for me it isn't importent as well, but it has catched some thoughts for me. Is it realistic in real world, that you have to have at least one engine running, to turn on the DDI's? Even with the APU running, or with ground power, it isn't possible to turn on the DDI's. With engines running, the DDI's turned on, the waypoints and weapon loads are already loaded. How do they get in there? In the A-10C, you load it all in, under your startup procedure, and if you change the weapon load out, you have to change it in the weapon page. How do the aircraft know, if I change my weapon load? I have seen a lot of video tutorials on Youtube, with the F/A-18C, and thanks for that. But It seems for me that the the moving map in the centre DDI is much easier to read in the videos, as it is on my screen. Especially the text around the border. It is too light green, and difficult to read. I have of course tried to play with contrast/brightness, but haven't found the perfect solution yet. I have the newest Geforce driver installed, use an Geforce 1080TI grafikcard, and a 27" 166MHz monitor, so I don't think it is there, the problem is. Best regards Henrik
  6. Please tell me which assignment you have? I can only find "autopilot disengage" in DCS options I found it. Thank you #Drac for help and patience
  7. I will try that. A lot to learn for me still. henrik
  8. Thanks for your replies. like Rob10 says, there is no single AP button to activate the autopilot, so Drac, how do you program the two buttons, you mention? Henrik
  9. Dear pilots Is it possible to assign "next waypoint/previous waypoint" to a button/switch on my controllers or my keyboard? I find it a little bit irritation to have to be in the right menu in the DDI to change the waypoints/mrk points. Regards Henrik
  10. Dear pilots I'm new to the F/A 18C, and I know how the autopilot works, through the UFC. But are there not a way to assign buttons or switches on my HOTAS, mostly for attitude and for altitude mode. I ask, because in some other aircraft I have been flying in DCS, there are. The MIG 21, the Harrier and the Mirage to mention a few. By the way, I use Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and stick. Regards Henrik
  11. The same here. I have got the request twice this year. I haven't react on it, but I don't know, if that's the right to do?

    Air combat tactic

No body else to give advices in how to prepare and entering a dogfight? I have flown a lot of hours in the A-10C and the helicoptors in DCS, with good succes. Flown many hours in the MIG-21 as well, but haven't had much succes in what it is used to, interceptions. Not because I'm hopeless, but I am begun thinking, how to entering the dogfight and the preparation the best way.
