  1. Hornblower, thanks for the quick response. Wow! That's a big map! I may have to hold off on that purchase or buy it on sale and not DL for now until I get a bigger HD.
  2. What is the total gig size of the PG Map? I'm thinking of buying it thru the Steam sale but I'm running out of HD space. Thanks.
  3. Thinking of buying the PG Map on the Steam sale but I'm running out of usable HD space. Can anyone here tell me what the total gig size of the map is? Thanks.

    Look Back View (F4)

Troye, Glad you posted this query as I've noticed this too. I'll recheck when I fire up the game again but I think the only plane the F4 lookback still works with is the F-15C. I too have the Mirage, Viggen as well as all four WW2 planes and F4 doesn't function with any of them either.
  5. TynMan, If you have any trouble with the Spit DLCs showing up in game: Remove the ones you already have manually and delete them. Then go into your game library and right-click the DCSW Icon and choose the "downloadable content" line. Uncheck both Spit DLCs and then check them again. After they both download: Go to Properties and run the "verify integrities of game files" process. After it completes then start DCSW.
  6. Tynman, As of last night February 6 the Spitfire DLCs are now working on Steam. I guess the (2nd tech support ticket I submitted did the trick). I'm now flying the Spit in the Epsom Campaign. A big thank you to Konstantin Kharin and the DCS Support people.
  7. Just a head's up as of February 6 after I submitted a (2nd tech support ticket) on this problem the Spitfire DLC is now working on Steam. I'm flying the Spit in game in the Epsom Campaign.
  8. TynMahn, Thanks for the reply and concern. I put in another Support Ticket today as my first one didn't get their attention the way it should have. I sent them a full DXDiag.txt and the DCS Log Files. Also today I manually placed the two Spitfire DLCs back in their proper places in the DCSW program and ran another "Verify integrity of game files" process through Steam. After the verification process finished I got the message: "two files failed to validate and will be reacquired." So obviously its' referring to the Spitfire DLCs. I have purchased 10 DLCs so far for DCSW and all of them work except the Spitfire stuff. Today I bought the FW190-D and yesterday the F-15C Georgian War Campaign. Both installed and the game runs flawlessly. I've informed DCS Support about all of this. I've requested that they examine the Spitfire DLCs they have on Steam as I have no doubt they are corrupted files and are non-functional. I also noticed on the DCSW game discussion forum there is another person posting about the same problem so we are definitely not alone. As soon as I get a reply from DCS support I will post it here. Hopefully they will finally do something about this mess. I know I'm getting tired of not being able to play the Spitfire DLCs in the game especially since I paid a total of $60 for those two items. Not a great way to treat fully paying customers who are strongly supporting them and buying lots of DLCs is it?
  9. I'm running the DCSW open alpha beta on Steam. Several days ago I purchased the Normandy 1944 Map and the WW2 Assets Pack. They installed and everything was OK and I was flying my Bf-109K and P-51 Mustang over Normandy. I then decided to purchase the Spitfire Plane and the Spitfire Epsom Campaign DLCs. Installed both of them and suddenly the DCSW program refused to start. Tried verifying integrity of the game cache and still no game startup. I then manually removed both of the Spitfire DLCs from the program and you guessed it the game is now starting again and running great. Obviously the two Spitfire DLCs have a conflict with the DCSW program. Has anyone on this forum experienced this problem and if so what is the fix for it? I've put in a tech support ticket to DCS with a dxdiag. but at present I've received no answer on a resolution to this problem.
  10. A few days ago I purchased the two Spitfire DLCs on Steam. I had already purchased and installed the Normandy 1944 Map and WW2 Assets Package. Both installed OK and I was enjoying flying my BF-109K and P-51 Mustang over the new map. I then installed both of the Spitfire DLCs (the Spitfire plane package and the Epsom Campaign). As soon as they installed the game refused to start. So, I manually removed both Spitfire DLCs and the game was immediately up and running again. Obviously the Spitfire DLCs are causing a conflict with the DCS program. Has anyone else here on this forum had this problem? And if so were you able to come up with a fix for it? I've put in a support ticket with DCS along with a dxdiag. file but haven't gotten a reply to my latest post with them. Meanwhile I've got this purchased DLC that I can't enjoy.
  11. I have the original Boxed DVD copy of BS1. I'm thinking of buying the full DL copy of BS2. Can this be installed without having to install DCS World? The reason I need clarification on this question is that I noticed on Steam it says DCS World is required to install BS2 there. I really don't need DCS World as BS is the only thing I want to fly.
  12. I'm currently upgrading my PC. I'm doing the usual upgrades. Win 7 64-bit, new 2BG VRAM GC Card and more RAM. I'm considering a 512GB SSD Drive. I don't know much about SSD's. So, if any of you has one please share your experience and opinions. Questions: Will the SSD drive make games run faster or does it just enable the PC to boot faster? How reliable are they? Is the increased cost of an SSD worth it performance-wise?
  13. I'm running Vista 32-bit. I deleted my pilot to enter a new one. At which point my screen froze. I Task Manager out of it and try to restart the game. I get this error message: :\blackshark\modules\me-logbook.lua:141:attempt to index field 'player' (a nil value) I was able to get the game to start again by "Running as Administrator." At which point I saw my new pilot's name in the logbook. However all my JS settings are now gone. I did not have to use "Run as Admin" originally. I'm also unable to use DCSMax which has greatly improved the FPS in the game. I'm thinking I may have to delete (and or) change the "lua" files in the program files. I suspect all my game, JS and graphics settings are gone because I'm now running under Admin. Before I start changing everything under Admin and uninstall and reinstall DCSMax is there a simple fix for this?
