A Problem with Static Object in FC 1.12b

So am i the only one with such a problem? well guess it's time for FC 2.... -
With this many people vouch for FC 2.0, i think I am sold on this one. 1. Once i install the FC 2.0, does my 1.1 disappear? 2. Does my FC 1.1's version matter? (English, French, Russian...etc) Mine is english.

Hi guys: I am thinking about buying the FC 2.0 update, but my computer is not all that fast. I can run FC 1.12b with some mods with medium effect pretty well, and I head about FC 2.0 being more FPS friendly (due to the new engine), but is that really true? My 1.12b is doing well speedwise, I just don't wanna make the purchase only to find out that my PC can't run it smoothly. FOr those of you who purchased FC 2.0, is it really more smoothly than 1.1 as claimed by the publisher?

Hello I am having with a issue with my static objects (namely static planes) in my mission editor. I am currently building a campaign, and in my mission 1, I placed 10 Static F-15 and other static aircrafts on the tarmac. But somehow, these static objects were carried over to mission two and three. Even after i deleted all the static objects on the map (there are no hidden ones) these F-15s are still there. I know for a fact that none of those objects are in my campaign anymore(already deleted and saved), and I do not have any hidden ones out there, so why do they keep showing up after i load the campaign??:helpsmilie:

Thanks a lot BRD, since you mentioned parking spot, that raised another question. How does the russian style parking spot works? there are lines and arcs, but it seems that they do not represent any type of parking spot at all. When i appears on the ramp, my airplane can be anywhere, over the line, right in the middle of the arcs, or neither. so when i organize my static object and put the aircrafts right on the white line, sometimes my F-15 overlap them. there are a lots of hangers in my home airfield, but somehow i can't put aircrafts in them. whenever i put one right over a hanger in the mission editor, they appears directly over the hanger instead of stay inside. Any ideas?:joystick: I know i should just put my f-15 on the runway and throttle up, instead of think about taxi all the way down the runway, but i would like to add some realism to my campaign......:helpsmilie::music_whistling:

1. I am trying to add some static F-15 on my map, only found out that I can not change the skin on the Static objects. I have some nice F-15 Skins for my playable aircrafts, but i would like to put them on all Static F-15s as well. Is there a way to change the skin on Static Aircrafts? can i put payloads on Static Aircrafts? 2. I realized that if i assign a AI Aircraft Group, they fly in a straight line instead of the regular Wedge formation, is there any way to change the formation of AI aircrafts? (no i am not talking about my wingman). 3. When i assign an AI Aircraft group to take off from the ramp, it can not be found when i enters the game. Do i have to take off first before AI aircraft takes off? 4. Is there any way to make my pilot exit the aircraft? if i press ALT+I, the AI will takes over my aircraft and start to taxi it down the ramp.....

it's a laptop so option 1 is not possible. well, the PC is a vaio, and it was configured for VISTA only....i messed it up by reinstall XP on it, and a call to SONY support center confirmed that this particular pc is not XP ready...i thought PC shouldn't have this kind of problem..... but anyways..

I am using Realtek High Definition Audio and SigmaTel High Definition Audio codec....not creative lab product.. do i still have any hope?:(:(:( i am glad to hear that the problem is caused by the system itself and not my mods...:(

Engine Sound UPDATE~~~this is weird.. as some of you might aware, i encountered some sound problem in lomac, which was mentioned in another thread, if you haven't seen that thread, you might not know what i'm talking about in this thread. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=43743 I thought i was able to overcome the problem by reinstall it, but i was wrong...and i found out exactly what was causing the problem. i started out with a mission with only my own aircraft, no problem, the engine stayed silent when not running, but as soon as i added a flying AI aircraft, i realized my engine started to making sound...then i found out that the engine sound i've been hearing is not comming from mine aircraft, and it is from the AI's engine... i was stunned by this discovery, since the AI aircraft flying 100 mile away would literally pass on his own engine sound to my cold and dark F15...i did more than a dozen experiements to prove the point, and i used different aircraft from different countries at different altitude...the sound would not go away as long as there is a AI flying, and it turns dead silent when i remove them..... any one happenes to know something about this issue? yes i'm using vista.:music_whistling:

that is correct..after turning off the AB sound in the plane.cfg, i can still hear the engine sound even if it is indeed shut down..... i already reinstalled lomac completely, so it is no longer a problem, i am going to spend some time to get my setup back, but other than that, i am good for now.

OOps...looks like the engine sound still exist while off...after burner is not there anymore, but the engine sound can still be heard......

replacing it does not do the job.... cfg. file is not editable since the computer tells me that "can not create C://(my path)/plane.cfg file, make sure that the path and file name are correct." this is getting interesting

I am having some problem with my newly acquired Sound Pack, it sounds absolutely fantastic, but one problem always bother me. Even if my engine is not running, i can still hear the roaring of the afterburner...unlike the default sound, i can't get that nice and smooth engine start sound going while doing ramp start. Yesterday when i was doing rampstart, i realized that my engine is already roaring before i started them. i checked the exaust and the gauages, no the engines are not running...:huh: it looks like that i messed something up, because the same pack works perfectly for the past two days, something went wrong with out my knowledge and now i have to hear AB no matter how much thrust i put in. It is getting annoying.... the pack is zzzspace version 1, which initially works amazingly after a manual installation, all I did yesterday was a reinstallation of my F-15 Mod once after a texture error, and that's it. Can that reinstall somehow mess up some of the CFG files and cause problems? i am trying to reinstall my sound pack again, but did not correct the problem.

my 2 cents after i finished the offical campaign.. 1. most mission flight path took you somewhere far away from the non mission related SAMS...follow them and they should not be a huge concern. 2. hug the ground...A10s are not fast fighters like the F15 i am about to learn, but they are easy to control and tough...i was taught that LO HI LO often works when enemy air patrol is not there. fly low, pop up for the shot and split s toward the ground. get out before they can fire the missile. in many missions, switch your payload to mavericks as much as you can carry. i will not fight a shilka with my guns, bombs or rockets. if i ran out and i have to fight a anti air unit, i fly back to base and reload. i can care less how long i spend, as long as i live. 3. when air defence light you up with their radar, they appear s on your radar warning screen, or that green round screen as i use to say. be aware of what's around of you and if you are heading right in to one, break. 4. when ever i attack a target which was protected by SAMS, i fire my maverick and break no matter what. if i fly slow ac like the A10, i break and pop flare regardless..i don't need a confirmed launch for me to do evasive manuver, fire, break, check, turn, fire, break is my pattern when attacking multiple target. 5. don't let ur winman waste weapon on non mission related target, since he often over use his weapon and would not heisatate to jettison them if going evasivE I KNOW A REALLY GOOD SITE FOR TUTORIAL VIDEOS, I LEARNED A LOT FROM THEM http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/flightbasics.htm click on tutorial at the top and choose AIR 2 GROUND.. you will find some SAM hunt videos at your disposal.

yeah, mine short cut is the pilot xml file itself........ is it normal for a new player to LOMAC die multiple times during the default campaign?? it seems i can never finish the default campaign with out die once....my longest streak took me all the way to the fifth mission (AWACS hunt)....then i got nailed by a su-27 escort....never got the chance to punch out...... i am having trouble fighting more than 4 fully armed air superiority aircraft like the 29 or 27....if i am taking on 4 or 6, i normally die after shooting down the first two..... is it reasonable or it just my skill still need improvement? i have about a few weeks of experience on this game.

i think for western planes, "fire" is cannon and "release weapon" is everything else.....I use joystick, so i programmed "fire" on my trigger and "release weapon" on a button that is easy to reach.

I am trying DIY my own pilot for campaign game, but don't quite like the insignia for the US f-15 squadon, so is there any way for me to custimize my own squadon insignia? by the way, how can a pilot gain rank and get medals? do i have to play the offical campaign to gain rank? because the pilot record never counts my home made missions... no matter how many kills i got, i still got a blank record.:pilotfly:
