  1. Currently I'm using a thrustmaster t1600, have the chance to upgrade my stuff.

Can't decide between staying with the current stick and buying a virpil throttle, or

Buying the thrustmaster twcs throttle and upgrading to a virpil/vkb stick.

For pedals I want the crosswinds.

    Pls help.

    Cheers.

  2. Thanks guys you helped me a lot. To be honest, I read the manual inside out - a couple of times. Also the one from chucks, and still had a difficulty understanding some of even the simplest of instruments. Maybe its my ADD... Anyway, I get the most help on these forums. So thanks again!

  3. Ok, so i'm kinda confused regarding the altimeter:

It's in metric, right? If so, what are the different numbers on it - inner\outer dials?

What are the small - not numbered markings (small hand), and what are the large (and numbered) ones?

    Thanks.

  4. Map rotation for ppl that don't have persian golf

Is it possible to even the rotation between the maps? Sometimes 12 hr long missions rotate to another 10 hr mission and all on persian golf.

    Cheers.

  5. Looking for a mate to tag along with

Just recently got into dcs, bought the mig21 and now getting into grips with the multiplayer experience.

I'm looking for a wingman to tag along with for an hour or two in the evenings.

    Cheers.

  6. I've just recently started flying the mig21 on multiplayer and it's quite challenging to say the least.

The most difficult things for me are:

    1. Understanding the mission system and getting to know the map.

    2. Spotting bogeys

    3. Talking on comms while trying to fly the plane

So if someone is looking for another pair of eyes it will be great if

I can tag along for an hour or so on late evenings.

    Cheers.

  7. Hi. After reading the guide I still have a problem understanding the quantities before and after the ventral external fuel tank runs out.

    The guide says:

    1. 3000-3200 L remaining if plane has a ventral external tank.

    2500-2700 L if not.

    2. If plane had ventral (central external), remaining fuel is 2700-2500 L.

If plane doesn't have ventral tank, remaining fuel is 2700 L.

This is regarding the fuel warning lights and the weapons and ordnance lights.

    So I still don't understand:

    a. What fuel quantity should I set when fuel is full (internal tanks + ventral external tank)..?

    b. What light will turn on when the ventral external tank is empty?

    c. What fuel quantity should I set after the external ventral tank is empty?

    Cheers.

  8. Hi. Just recently got into dcs and the cold war birds. Have a couple of questions:

    1. When using radar it doesn't show me other aircraft as single or double lines. Only as a target

above/same height/below me. What am I doing wrong?

    2. When selecting a specific pylon for a missile, do I have to change to the other pylon that's

carrying the same type of missile after firing? For example, if I choose #3 pylon with an ir

missile, after firing it - do I need to change to the 4th pylon or it will automatically shoot it next

    time I press weapons release?

    Cheers.

  9. Yesterday I logged into a training server for the first time and I really didn't know what to do other than take off, fly for a bit and land.

A few questions I have regarding the multiplayer in dcs:

    1. I fly the l39 and it's radio frequencies are pre programmed. If in the server briefing I have a

bunch of frequencies for comms, how do I program those into my radio channels?

    2. On single player I have no issues with lags and stutters, but in the multiplayer server I was

the game lagged like crazy and I had a ton of stuttering. Should I lower my settings before

    logging in a multiplayer server?

    3. I had all the friendlies and enemies with labels I could see from miles away, is it possible to turn

it off? Its also like this in the editor and this is not so immersive.

    cheers.

  10. Hi all. I'm still practicing basic stuff with the l39 and my hunger for multiplayer gameplay is getting bigger and bigger.

A few things that are not so obvious to me are:

    1. Comms: How to know which radio frequency I should tune in to via the cockpit radio?

Cause' my birds radio has only pre selected frequencies (1-19).

    2. If I have srs installed - will the program tune itself to that frequency?

    3. How the hell am I suppose to know where all the action is? Will using rsbn is enough? or should

I use ndb stations as well?

    4. Any tips about getting familiar with caucasus map?

    Cheers.

  11. Hi all. There's an issue that I can't resolve regarding the limited z axis movement

with track ir. I don't wanna bind the slow zoom to my z axis, but I see that a lot of streamers and youtubers do this forward motion without zooming, and they almost reach the hud with only moving forward.

I saw this (kinda old) thread:

    https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=187155

I checked my .lua files, and they're not exactly the same as the ones

in the tutorial. I don't wanna mess up my game.

    Cheers.

  12. I'm new to dcs, and a noob pilot. I have a bit of flying time from fsx but not with jets and especially not with fighters. Boy this is way harder than I thought.

So I got myself an Albatross and started practicing traffic patterns in hope that it will make me a better pilot. Need some guidance though about my future plans with dcs.

After managing basic piloting skills (level flight\level turning\landing etc)I'm planning on learning the following:

    1. radio navigation.

    2. Low level flight

    3. Using weapons

    4. Basic multiplayer (aka being shot down a lot)

    5a. Maybe fancy myself a mig 15 or a 21

    5b. WWII stuff

What do you guys think? Ill appreciate any tips\ideas\criticism.

    Thanks a lot !!!
