  1. Thanks VS461,the more I use the race track the more addicted I am getting to it,trying to get lower, faster and smoother. The corners are just the right radius for practicing coordinating turns.I have learnt to use a bit of opposite cyclic to initiate the turn similar to opposite lock when driving a car off road/on ice,it drifts the helo around the bends allowing you to point inwards at any "target".The tidiest speeds for me are about 50-60 kph at 10M or so.I aim to keep constant height as well....many meetings with the ground.
  2. Yep,you really do get a sense of speed,as you say it definatey focuses the mind...also gets you used to following a straight path.
  3. Hi I have sort of reached a point where I can fly fairly well & use the weapons but still find accurate flying a little problematic at times. However in single player mission "Alititude" there is an oval race track to the East of the runway end, turn right after take off.I spend a long, long time now just following the track around, ballancing collective & cyclic & I find it really helps my controll. You can circulate close to the track or at hieght,I stay between 10- 50M as much as possible & you can go as fast or slow as youre able to while monitoring youre progress against the track. After 40 mins or so you get a real feeling of where the helo is & where it is going.I have found this very useful and was wondering if others use this or other in game aids.I have the heading/track toggle in mid position for this excercise & will try it in director mode for comparison.Any posts of tracks of this being done nicely would be good to see.
  4. Excellent, sounds like this will need a try, thanks Frazer.Just a thought though, closer inspection of mine seems to point to sticking below the hole in the base casing, more like the larger flat disk that the shaft protrudes through,in youre picture the one with all the concentric rings which moves back & forth.Or even below that.........
  5. Not sure WD40 will be any good, its way too thin & wont stick to the applied surfaces.I might try the softener though, it needs something viscous I think. T Goat, cannot you adjust the saturation in options/controlls/axis comands/axis tune.Try altering sat X? or Y? Although left & right should be the same.
  6. Thanks Falcon Interesting, I did try the old tie wrap thing & it seemed to help but the big end of the tie wrap started catching.I will try again with smaller ones maybe. cheers
  7. Thanks all. I re installed SST & disabled the clutch button.Started adding assignments to the SST (only the ones with pinky mode shifts) & all seemed OK.Then BSOD again.I have un-asssigned the throttle mouse wheel & throttle mouse wheel button from the SST & so far all appears OK.It may be possible to run SST without anything assigned to that function.I will try it like this.
  8. Just wondering how people find the x52 pro in use.Mine is fairly new but has been a bit notchy since the start. It is only noticible when flying the helo due to the need for precice movements near the centre. If,for instance, moving from hover or changing direction slowly, the stick meets a sticky point near the centre.I then add force to overcome it & the stick suddenly moves & follows through producing unwanted movement.Very annoying.Sometimes moving the silver disk below the spring helps, but the problem returns.I have sprayed white grease everywhere but no change.Has anyone had this problem/sorted it? thanks
  9. Yes I removed the lua direct output dll way back in an early effort to fix.Doing that stopped the game crashing out and enabled all missions/tracks to work (a seperate earlier problem, now fixed), but did not stop the BSOD, bad pool caller problem which kept crashing windows.I have tried re installing all saitek drivers /software,graphics drivers and the only thing that cures the BSOD in windows is removing the SST alltogether.I have got used to it not being there now & have no problems what so ever (apart from not being able to use the mouse functions on the stick). If I get time I may try the SST with no profile.I would like to back up the Black Shark controll profile in case though, anybody know which files? thanks all. BTW yes I am on 1.0.1.
  10. Hi BK Yep thats exactly how I had it,all removed from BS options, everything was programmed through the latest SST.I did not however know to disable the clutch button. With the above programmed all functions worked, including the mouse, but it just kept randomly crashing to blue screen & "bad pool caller" message.Since uninstalling the SST there has been no crashes & all is well.I have everything programmed in BS options (except stick mouse stuff), even have pinkie assigned to shift change which works perfectly.I wonder if I can install magic/mouse/bus without the SST?
  11. I had a look in device manager & the magic bus & mouse have gone (since un installing the SST). In controll panel/game controllers the testing and properties tabs are still there & working & appear to recognise all the axis & buttons on the stick & throttle (& rudder).I used this to identify the mouse buttons/mini stick & the small thumb click button (I used this for the collective brake in SST) but when assigning the button number in BS the buttons do not work even though they are listed in the button assignment lists eg button 16,19 & 31.Als I am sure I did have the latest SST, BKLronin, but will look again to see. thanks all
  12. Thanks for that, I guess the X52 wont have the mouse function without the software.I cannot put the SST back in as I am sure it will just BSOD again, sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes a half hr.I do have the latest drivers, still no mouse function. Do you have track IR running as well?
  13. Hi I have not been able to run BS for more than a short time before random BSOD occurrs,in MP or SPlayer mode. This was cured (at the moment) by removing the Saitek SST software and programming all commands through BS options. All now OK apart from I want to use the X52 wheel & buttons feature on the throttle but BS does not recognise them so I cant.So I have 3 questions 1)Has anyone got these three to work together without problems,if so how? 2)Is there any way to use the mouse functions of the X52 without the problematic SST. 3) It took ages to re-programme the BS, which files do I need to back up to save the profile,& where are they? Any help greatly appreciated. System:Win XP sp3,EVGA 680i mobo,E6600 @ 3.1,4GB OCZ RAM,Asus 275 GTX,Spinpoint 750 HD,Tagan 480 PSU,Bit defender AV, HP 2408 monitor,PS2 mouse (removed sidewinder;caused more crashes) non USB keyboard. No soundcard,All latest drivers, chipset drivers/software drivers.
