  1. OK, got it, although, I'll have to test it later, since I've use up this months data allowance already. Fricking wireless ISP data limits. Thanks Distiler, I must be going blind, I didn't even notice the download button. I just opened training, pressed start, saw the error, and thought I had a bad install.
  2. I tried starting as administrator, and I get the same error message. I'm thinking that the error message results because there are no training files when I press start. You don't get the same error message? Sorry for making you post that explanation of the difference between logging on as administrator and starting as administrator. I should have read more carefully.
  3. I'm always logged in as administrator.
  4. I installed to the default path, but on the "D" drive: D:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2. Black Shark is located in the same Eagle Dynamics folder. This is the only problem I am having with the game. Considering there are no training files in the training section. I wouldn't really call it a problem. I absoulutely love the new upgrade. It is well worth the money. I can't say enough about it - Just fantastic! - Keep the DCS series coming! - I'll buy every new model you introduce. I'd like to see some tank models in the works (T90C).
  5. I just downloaded, and installed flaming cliffs 2. Their seems to be a problem with the training section. I am getting an error message when I click the training button. the game seems to run fine except for the training section. I reinstalled BlackShark, but have not reinstalled Flaming cliffs 2 yet. I have included an image of the error message, and a dxdiag of my rig. DxDiag.txt
  6. OK, my problem is resolved. When building my system I used 2 x 6GB kits of RAM. I have replaced the RAM with a Corsair Dominator 12GB kit. No freezes or stuttering. Thanks for all the input guys
  7. When I disable the sound card the game won't launch. I've tried Xonar DX2, Realtek on board sound, and I have X-FI Fatality 1. I've tried all 3.
  8. I set water to zero, and it didn't seem to make much difference.
  9. OK, I feel like a total idiot, but I can't figure out how to edit the Options.Lua file to set water to zero. I opened it notepad, but wouldn't allow me to save. Before I reinstalled my OS I replaced my sound card with X-Fi Fatality 1 card. It didn't fix the problem.
  10. So this is normal behavior for DCS on all systems? If so are we waiting for multi-core support from DCS?
  11. I haven't installed anti-virus yet.
  12. I guessing you mean Audio Video Package, but how do you turn this off?
  13. My freezing and stuttering happens no matter what resolution or detail settings are on. I changed out the graphics card, and still had the same problem. I ran Western Digital Lifeguard tests on the WD drives they are fine. I found that by mistake I have my SATA drives installed as IDE instead of AHCI. I guess I'm going to have to reinstall the OS again to fix it. Could having my SATA drive set to IDE instead AHCI be causing my problem? I did have an interesting thing come up when I ran benchmarks in Si Soft Sandra. Under tips it said: "cannot use large memory pages due to lack of privileges" So I did a Google search and found this article:http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/enable-lock-pages-in-memory-to-prevent-database-paging-to-disk/ I changed the settings, and locked pages to memory. It really seemed to impove my system performance, but didn't fix the problem.
  14. OK, I've done it, my first OC! I've got it overclocked to 3.19. I just want to be conservative about OCing until I get a good CPU fan. I've run Ka-50, and am still encountering the same problem.
  15. Well when there is a lot of activity like engagements with the enemy and crashes.
  16. I have a I7 920 with a temperature sensor attached the heat sink. The Temperature never goes over 102 F, but usually is well below 100 F. It is the the two GTX285's that through the heat. The stutter happens when any missile activity or explosions happen. You could review the track I have posted to see it.
  17. If what you are saying about my CPU speed is true. Then it would explain my problem. I don't think it is the graphics because the freezes and stutters happen at any resolution and with both high and low settings. My RAM tested OK with memtest86. So I'm thinking it must be the CPU. What else could it be? I've reinstalled the OS and played with the virtual memory, and have had no success. I asked BS tech support about the CPU, and they said BS should be working well with my 920 CPU. In fact they said my CPU is awesome. My problem, with overclocking is that I have a warm house and no water cooling. I don't have the cash to spend on water cooling. Plus, water just sounds bad around electronics. I have a Q9550 and a GTX280OC I could just build another system or stick a huge fan on my CPU and overclock it. My family is complaining that my computer is heating up the house. I'm not sure if they'll stand for another computer or more decibels coming from the current computer.
  18. I reinstalled the operating System, and installed a new sound card. I updated the chipset software, and the problem is still there.
  19. I disabled SLI, and no change. I down graded drivers using driver cleaner, and no change. As far as CMOS settings go. I just upgraded my bios from 0407 to 0507. I had the same problem with both bios versions and memory set to either 1066 or 1333. My memory is 6 x KVR1333D3N9_2G all settings on auto except DRAM frequency which is set at 1333 currently. I have the same problem on auto freq. I have nothing OC'd, but my CPU runs higher than rated. 2.7 & 2.8 Ghz. The CPU is rated for 2.67 GHz. I have reinstalled and repatched twice. I haven't tried installing to another drive yet. I don't use any MOD's because I haven't got the game working correctly yet. This is the 2nd install of Windows, but I really didn't play Black Shark with the first install because I was getting the close program bug with 1.0. so maybe I have to try that... But all other games and programs run fine.
  20. I have a new computer, and am having problems with Black Shark 1.00 and 1.01. The frames seem to get bogged down with high levels of activity. This happens in both high & low video settings. Generally my system seems to be working well. All other games function correctly except for LockON which app crashes. That problems seems unrelated. I have contacted support team at DCS, and they are unable to resolve my problem. Does anyone have a clue about what is going on or wish to hazard a guess?
