  1. When DCS model the buttons that only 0.01% of computer pilots are interested in I will say they are on the Precision Manuals level, they are close. But I absolutely love the A-10 :) I have been a buyer since Su-27 Flanker on the Amiga. My retro mind remembers how impressed I was that the mountains got more triangles when you flew towards them :D Triangle mountain... Mountain of 12 triangles :O Mountain of 50 triangles!!! :O :O
  2. The manual didn't really help. Open the speed breaks to 40%... :D Not halfway or open them a "little bit" :)
  3. Yeah not handicap friendly this aircraft :) The configuration of the aircraft in terms of gears, throttle, attitude and flaps seem fundamental to real pilots, So I was kind of curious why this omission from the cockpit.
  4. I am in the process of flying some patterns in the A-10 and doing some ILS approaches. I am trying to figure out if we have tons and tons of information in the cockpit and no indicator for speedbrake deployment. Searches through the manual has turned up empty. Is this a case of me going blind or are we supposed to look at the wing and the airspeed indicator? If so it would be a funny omission from the cockpit :)
  5. Ahh, and by the way... I really miss the planning phase in simulators :( Tornado by Digital Integration had this, after you got promoted. AV8B... don't know if you remember that one... Had it in spades. Total air war had it. But then again... I liked Rainbow Six while it had the planning phase that got dumped because no one liked it.
  6. i would like to see the Tornado. Just because I have so many memories of it. But if all really modern planes are off limits. I would want to see late cold war fighters and bombers and scenarios to match. The US will never have an opponent that is as interesting as back in the day. Probably for another simulation company... But if I had a couple of million us dollars to spend. I would do so on a late cold war simulator. Missiles was worse... Avionics was worse... Better multiplayer :D
  7. Ahh, refreshing that they are included :)
  8. I must agree. I was a late person coming to the Lock On party. When I wanted it I first went to steam... Then google... "Lock on digital download"... Then I found a sale where I picked it up for 3$. But with prescence on Steam they would have sold it for more than 3$ I assure you, haha. Or rather the store would have kept its copy and I would have bought one on a digital service :) I like steam... No mails with serial numbers or one download only :( I bought flaming cliffs directly from this site... but in the end. For me as a consumer it would be easier... That said I understand the Steam tax. But I wonder... Everybody with steam must have seen or been annoyed with Railworks. They used Steam against steam... They used DLC to basically blanket Steam, haha. I guess in the end the PR was worth it.
  9. It is a game Hi! Sorry to respond to older messages in the thread. In digital integrations Hind I seem to remember mining afghan villages from the helicopter. But in a way I remember doing it and it felt wrong. I just wanted to say I am not the proud owner of the A-10 beta yet :) But I hope they include cluster muntions. It is just a game after all. In games I have broken the geneva convention many times :(, how many times have I not fired on paratroopers... Still I don't like it when media or politics get in the way of simulations. Like it or not, if the situation warrants it landmines and cluster muntions will leave storage. Sadly this time in the real world. I have always felt the simulation community so grown up that we can see it for what it is.
  10. A 486dx4 is about four to six times faster than the microprocessor used in the space shuttle, the AP-101S :) Older processors can be manufactured to withstand a combat environment, plus they have been used for so many years that any bugs might have been ironed out, haha. I wonder what processor the longbow has, but I guess that it will be crushed by your PC :) But hey, they don't need to run windows on top of it!
