...CPU clocks at max AFTER shutting shutting the Pimax Play down and disconnecting the headset...
Well, I guess this issue disappeared after after I installed Steam and Steam VR. I was reinstalling the entire gaming setup on a different rig and decided to configure PCL headset in Pimax Play before I installed the Steam VR... bad idea
The processes are manageable now, besides I only play offline.

Would be interested to see if Pimax is doing telemetry/data collection in the background that defender is flagging.
On top of that the newest Pimax Play leaves crapload of processes running keeping the CPU clocks at max AFTER shutting shutting the Pimax Play down and disconnecting the headset. I have to either stop them all manually or reboot the system. I have couple of main processes on manual start so they don't automatically start on system start.

I personally think this boils down to one very simple factor - $$$$
What else... shake'em up, wake'em up. It will be fun to see what contraption ED cooks up

I've now spoken to an ex F-18C LOT20 pilot and mechanic (80's and 90's) that confirms that there is an option for the JHMCS to display hafu symbology in a non blink setting across the HUD. IE: Following a hafu across your HUD while everything else gets blanked out. This is an extremely useful option to have while following a datalink target nose on. If this option is currently available I have no been able to find it in the JHMCS settings.
I'm glad someone else noticed issues with JHMCS implementation. A/A and A/G symbology should have a fluid transition through the HUD 'blanked' area. No... I don't have any docs, simply using common sense. Hopefully my common sense is not 'blanked out' yet. There was a thread or two on this subject looong time ago but the issue was quickly dismissed and faded into oblivion.

Why would anyone make an unbiased LLM when you can bake your own biases into the thing to make it work 'correctly'? It's like expecting unbiased journalism.
I just tried to bake an indirect message into my post.
... perhaps I outdone myself a bit, hehe.

but the Razbam issue has killed a lot of my joy for this Sim, however I’m still flying DCS but and don’t intend to leave it just yet …. But I can’t deny that it has lost a lot of its appeal to me.
I wonder if someone already created a neutral and unbiased LLM engine with international law flavor... with an integrated AI judge
, capable of running all mediation solutions in one session and then, if the parties still don't agree... slap the judgement on them in the same session. Oh, no 'real' lawyers would be allowed to attend, lol.

... I mean, it's certainly a benefit for people with ESP/precognition. Although those people are usually too busy trading stocks and playing the lottery to use DCS, so I'm not sure how much they'll actually use it. I guess the rest of us are on our own...
LOL, damn Rex you do have a way with words.

That's a small game... big players are just warming up
. Little things like TP Link routers on the table today. Who knows what the next roll of the dice will bring. Hopefully the high rollers will get tired of this game and start another.

Decided to revisit 24H2, now that it is more mature. Good results so far, average drop in GPU frametime of 0.3ms and also CPU frametime going down by 0.4ms. This is using Nvidia 566.14 driver along with preset E for DLSS. I also removed Process Lasso and not seeing any degradation or stutters, 24H2 seems much better at "spreading the load" and giving priority to games.
I've been on 24H2 for about 2 weeks now and haven't noticed any problems with performance (on non DCS stuff). Then again performance was also good before that.
Oh, I don't run MS Outlook ;) or any other office type of stuff so I'm good... for now.

...Too often DCS is just depressing, improve one thing, and something else FAQs up...
Now, that is a FAC
I guess all internal test pilots stayed in the ready room instead of getting up to the roof and taking a spin.

...Not surprised there's outgoing telemetry from the software; something else that needs to be address.
That's just usual google data collecting crap and of course their chinese counterpart needs to be informed too
. I've been running offline for weeks at a time and never had any prompts to login... so far. When I say 'offline' I mean net adapter disabled. Now, I ran into some strange behavior at the bootloader level (Grub) when I left the PCL's USB cable plugged in during my rig startup. I think it's just Grub trying to figure out wtf it's dealing with, lol. I'll get someone to help me to figure this one out.
I'm one of the lucky ones when it comes to my PCL's 'quality' and haven't run into any tech issues. I'm only running at 90hz with no FFR.
I don't have any plans to buy Super and didn't even bother to check that part of Pimax website but if this is true what OP said about not having an option to pay full price and forget...
Well, before I use some colorful language I'd better go and check the website myself

Oh yes, the good old days of buying things locally, like when the original Oculus was released 'next door' (to me
) and zuckerberg was busy with other stuff...
I think the situation will improve in the near future in my neighborhood provided some 'other' factors don't get in a way

or so I thought
If I isolate this file my headset is not communicating with my USB3 port. Oh well, I put it back in, fine. I wish this PimaxPlay had a streamlined version just for PCL. There is so much useless for me 'stuff' running all the time. Yes, I configured the startup apps and processes for both Pimax and Steam, took out as much as I could without breaking it. Still have to kill off a few processes after every Pimax session is done. I'm not even going into piles of'leftovers' in temp folders... sure, some of them are needed.
On a positive note I like the headset's performance and image in the apps and games I use it for. I don't care about its sound input or output since I use something else for that.
I installed v1.34.02.01 (released on Nov 15) and this time my Win Defender was happy. The new 'RealtekWiFi.dll' modded on Nov 14 did not trigger Defender's curiosity
.

Just updated to 1.34 It went smooth except at some point during install Windows Defender politely asked me to submit one file for further examination. No quarantine or panic
it was 'RealtekWiFi.dll' This file is useless to me anyway. I told MS to go ahead and copy it... run it through their bots
The only thing I tested in 1.34 was headset freq. At 120hz the AC and ACC were showing in a headset as a desktop window. At 90 upscale they ran fine... just 'fuzzy' for my taste. 90Hz ran great as before.

Any improvements in the newest patch (30Oct24) ?

Sorry, I'm not a fan of simply 'hating the big corporations', this BS "David/Goliath" mentality is fine for a biblical lesson, in the real world, just because someone is strong, doesn't make them automatically the bad guy, I'll leave that crap to the misguided Marxists...
Nowadays those misguided marxists ( insert any substitute name here ) are 'guiding' the big companies quite well I must say... Now, if I can only blend it with the theme here

WiFi is cool... the only hustle for me would be wearing an aluminum scull cap underneath the headset. I already have enough s*** swirling around my head

Coming from G2 I'm generally happy with CL. There's just one thing I have to figure out how to fix or mod... airflow between my face and the lenses. I had to call timeout for the fog-up couple of times. Hey, maybe an old scuba mask trick will work. Spit on the inside and smear it around lol. BTW, are there any VR sets out there that include the ventilation?

Maybe a Crystal Light? No Zuckerberg, which I agree with your sentiments too. But I don't like Elon and use Starlink, I don't like Bezos and buy way too much from Amazon, including my Q3.
Pretty soon... perhaps
they will all combine into 'ONE' entity and if you don't behave... 'No soup for you'
Anyways, @Jyge: I would just try to track down the issue of crashes first. I have Crystal Light and I guess I'm one of those lucky ones not having any issues whatsoever with ACC or the original AC. If I already had a Varjo set... I don't know.
So far AC and ACC are the only games I'm running on my W11 install so I can't run my mouth regarding DCS... not on my rig at the time, just checking the forum on regular bases.

I posted this response a while back in a related thread (bugs section). Is this still a thing? I can't test it myself at the moment.
QUOTE: "Well now you can not raise the nose up any more by pulling on the stick. As soon as the mains hit the runway the horizontal stabs go full 24' NU but the only effect you get is a slightly extended nose wheel strut. During final approach on speed, the stabs are roughly ~ 15 NU and if the stabs go suddenly to 24' after touchdown (around 130, 140 kts) ... the results would definitely be noticeable in RW. In the current build the stabs ease up to ~15 NU when slowing through 100kts. From what I understand we should be able to gradually pull on the stick after touchdown, going to full up below 100kts. That's with the nose wheel on the ground all the time. The roll / rudder interconnect disconnects at a 100kts also."

It might be something as simple as 1080p gets one pixel and 2160p gets 4 pixels. That’s actually what it looks like on my screen...
This is how I always thought it should have been fixed. On top of that make the pixels go through different transparencies or shades at extreme distances to full intensity pixels before transition to textures. That's just my simp brain farting... Oh, for some easy going folks there are always labels available in any shape or form, some rainbow colored blob with text or no text

My short non scientific review: I tried Pimax Quadviews - meh, Upscale to 90Hz - meh, went back to regular 90Hz. OpenXR looked a tiny bit softer (as Dangerzone described) then SteamVR.
I'm still playing racing sim only so... no stutters, hickups or crashes.

I'm noticing that the Pimax software doesn't seem to respect the offliine mode when I choose it. My firewall is reporting that Pimax is still sending data over the internet, to s4.cnzz.com, google.com, google-analytics.com, and appstore.pimax.com while I'm using "Offline Mode".
Is there something else that needs to be done for Pimax Play to respect offline mode (and my privacy)?
Oh yes, google anal lytics... I'd just pull the net cable out
