  1. Thanks for the simple answers. Its often daunting to search a new site for answers to specific questions I have.

Besides the poor ground/building intersection (looks like a higher res building placed on a blurry ground) the graphics do not look that much worse than IL2. Though that could be an older version I saw.

I wish some of the detail they have in their FSX addon planes were in this game. If there was that much engine and prop control I would be in heaven. It sounds like you don't get physical parts falling off confirmation of gun hits, but sounds like the bullet impact is more pronounced than in IL2 so I guess it works out to be similar.

I think I am going to download this game. Not sure where I could go find the boxed copy.

  2. You will not find a more expansive sim. I would say its near impossible to master each of the different models of plane in the game. I have no idea what my version is anymore. I was never able to get ultra mod to work.

What mods do you have Blaze?

  3. I have a 940 as well. I think this is the same with any rudder pedals. When you trim, just press the x,y button to recenter your rudder position after releasing the trim button. Its not perfect, and I would love FFB pedals but this works for me just fine. I had the same issue using one of those suggested fixes, but my trimmer kept clicking like I was releasing even while pressed. This exacerbated the problem because now my rudder doubled every time the trimmer clicked even though I was still holding the button, the short script was cycling. I did not look into how to fix it, just went back to a quick rudder tap after releasing trim. Rudder is the same affect as recentering a non ffb stick. You must recenter immediately after releasing trim. I usually fix my attitude so that rudder is not needed before trimming.

  4. Jerking is from the hand sensor on the right side of the stick near the trigger. Cover that with Electrical tape and stick will not react when hand is removed.

In DCS G940 does not react to game events. I have not played any flight sims in a while. But, if I remember correctly there is no bump when landing. No buffeting in stall. No vibration from cannon. FFB is only used as a trim tool. Force trimming works for me in A10. When I press the trim button the stick moves as it should to match it. In BS, when you press the trim button you can feel the stick lock in place and then can remove your hand. I had lots of issues learning to fly the BS with a center sprung. When I switched to the 940 I became instantly better. Though I did get pedals as well which helped a bunch. I have not flown with the new firmware yet, but I hope its as good as they say. I hope they are quick to fix the throttle and pedals. Throttle is probably more annoying to me than rudder. Especially in BS. Hard to hover well without being able to barely notch the collective up or down. I am not very graceful when it comes to rudder use. At least I have an excuse.

In IL2 you have the stall buffeting which really helps seat of the pants flying. Pressure on the stick changes with wind speed as well. Its really well implemented I thought compared to what we get in DCS.

I see less need for FFB in A10 for sure, but I dont really want to go back to non FFB in BS.

  5. Why 100% oxygen?

I like how it just says minimum decent rate, but not what maximum forward speed. Aren't they dependent on each other without stalling? Not sure about the speed brakes being closed either. I would think slowest possible speed would be the goal in any crash landing scenario.

  6. There is already ArmA 2 for people who want battle in all situations. DCS is a much much higher fidelity sim than that game. I would love to see better terrain in DCS world, but I could care less about human targets on the ground. I really doubt you would want to be on the ground in a simulation battle ground as well. How many soldiers in a company have RPGs? Not every soldier like in the FPS game world. Now hold your little M4 up and shoot at my BS from 8km away while a vihkr is coming at you.

I agree that its boring flying in the DCS world only because of the terrain quality. Its fun to just fire up BS and fly about as long as you are not really LOOKING at the terrain. Would be so much more fun in those high quality worlds. Then with enemy added, I would never be bored.

  7. Hmm, well since you find me so entertaining, do this. Add up the age you will be in 2011 to the last two digits you were born. In my case, I was born in 61 and will be 50 this year. 61+50=111.

Now try it with your family and friends (if you have any) and check it out! Cool huh?

    :megalol:

Heh, now try same tactic with 2012 the year the world ends.

35+77=112. What are we proving again?
