I have this problem, the bindings change for no reason when the throttle is at different positions, i will have a look at the cable's to see if anything is going on there but the bindings change to the same set of bindings every time it happens so i doubt that a pinched cable would be responsible for that

Hi just an update, have found target and uninstalled it i have never used it and everything seems to run ok without it. I have noticed that this is related to the throttle position, have noticed another thread regarding this so will get reading there
-
Hi thanks for the response.
I don’t actually know what target is to be honest I assume it’s to do with programing and calibrating in windows so I will take a look, I just plug and play normally.
Quickly reading your link did give me a clue though, I didn’t mention because I thought it a different problem but my MFD’s are sometimes the wrong way around, in the F18 for instance, if I click the top left MFD buttons this will control the right hand MFD in game, when I set them up they worked fine . As this is TM too I think there is a problem with the TM software and not DCS so will take a look when I get time.
Thanks for all the help though, I will post my findings as soon as I know

As in the title the bindings change on the throttle, I think it's mainly the hat switches.
Everything seems ok to start with all switches work ok, then during flight the bindings change for no reason, if i use a hat switch to go to an external view for instance it will put the air brake on, the air brake switch doesn't do anything now and i can't get the air brake off. This is one of many problems i get with the switch bindings it's as if all the swiches change from what i have set them to then change back without reason.
I have had this problem in the past but it seemed to clear itself but now it's back.
Does anybody have a fix for this? Is it a problem only with DCS, i don't use it for anything else so can't test it out.
Thanks in advance for any help with this

Why doesn’t anyone answer this simple question?
-
I find it absurd that there are two un-official statements, that it didn't get in and that then it already was made.
So what to trust really?
Yes I find this a bit iffy, ED say we haven't included the vr update because it broke and needs fixing, now apparently it has been released? Seems to me they are taking advantage of some reporting a vast improvement rather than fix the issue. Why spend time and money fixing something that so many people are saying has already been done?

My Rift S locks at 40fps, despite the fact that I get over 100fps at 4k resolution in standard 2d. Due to that I assume my "actual" FPS is somewhere closers to 60 or 70 and the Rift is doing some form of half vsync thing like some monitors do? If that's the case and if this patch does give a large boost I may actually find myself popping from 40fps to 80fps!
I'm temper my expectations of course but it would be sweet if that happened.
EDIT: Actually I just realized this doesn't include the Nevada map which is the only map I've actually played on.
Just download the Caucasus map it's free and a great map, the best in my opinion

Yeah between my no image in headset issue after closing Oculus Home and then launching it again ( have to restart the service three times to get it back), and now I have notification my right Touch controller battery is low after only 1 week, I am pretty frustrated.
I absolutely love the image quality and performance though, so not ready to give up on it yet. I am working with support, but only getting correspondence from them like once a day is tough.
Hoping for a firmware fix, but my patience is starting to wear thin. I can leave Oculus Home running and minimized and then don't have to fight the no image issue, but still it is an issue. And I dang sure don't want to be replacing batteries once a week. Guess I could take them out when not in use.
Most interested to hear though from those that are not having issue on these questions.
Are you saying that you need Oculus home running in the background to get image in the HMD? If so that's no difference to the CV1. I've also had a problem with my CV1 left hand touch controller not turning off and draining down the battery since I first had them, apparently this is a common fault, I just remove the battery

Be aware though. ASW 2.0 currently does not work with DCS
If ASW1 works with DCS then surely ASW2 is just an update to ASW1 and would still work?
-
Taping only works to prevent this problem from occurring, if you have lost the sound then the ribbon is damaged, the HMD will need replacing or just use your own earphones

I had the right side fail twice and had the rift replaced both times, I must say they were very good about it, I have also fixed the right hand side to stop this happening again

What do you guys mean when you say stuttering?
I have an up to date version of DCS and when I get into the cockpit with the rift I get really bad stuttering as I move my head around. It's like a blurry mess that seems too occur as I'm moving my head, is this what you mean?
I don't know if it clears up as I quit out as soon as this happens as it makes me feel sick. Some times it doesn't start until I've taken off but that's very rare, and once only I managed a hole mission without it happening. The funny thing is I have an older version installed, from about three months ago that runs fine so I keep going back to that. This is going to be a Problem for me when the F14 comes along that I've paid for and I can't fly!!

You don't need to do it often. Only when you see something that doesn't make sense, or after a massive upgrade, like 1.5 to 2.5.
In rough lines, these folders contain a precomplied cache for all the shaders. So it's a cheat sheet for the code, to speed up things.
When the folder does not exist, the game regenerates the cache again from scratch, which take a while (5-15 minutes)
OK, thanks for that just wondered, good tip on allowing it time to load, it would probably make most think that the sim had crashed it takes that long!!
-
delete FXO and Metashaders from "Saved Games\DCS" see if that helps
Just note that on first load it will take ages.
to the point windows will yell at you the program is not responding.. Just hit "Wait" when that happens.
I see this a lot on this forum, what does this actually do when you delete these files and when and how often do you need to do this?
-
The only other thing I can think of is try alt + Num0 With Num lock on, or if that's what you did then try with Num lock off
-
You need to tick the use snap view saving in the miscellaneous settings tab, it should then remember your setting.
-
When you did all this how long did it take DCS to boot and how long to load a mission? I don't understand all the deleting you did, I just renamed the metacaches for each map and copied the shaders over
1. Remove all Mods from your current version of DCS so that it is in stock form.
2. Update DCS to latest version.
3. Run latest version to make sure all is working.
4. You need to copy your Bazar folder and overwrite the existing files in there with the ones from the zip file.
Then you just need to rename all your C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache\dcs for each map you have, then you are good to go.
6. It should take about 10 mins or so to load up the first time, if not something went wrong
-
In the terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache, do you re-name the dcs folder or the dcs LUA file?

It takes a LONG time to load first time. Can be up to 10 minutes. Patience!
Thanks for that I got it to load up by waiting forever but it comes up with an error message when loading a mission so somethings wrong at my end but thanks anyway

Which part are you having an issue with?
I think from memory I had to delete some files first but when I did the SIM wouldn't load so I replaced what I deleted and it now loads ok so I must have misunderstood some part of the process. I don't have the read me to hand now so can't remember the process but it didn't work for me so if anyone can explain how to do it. I can give it another go
-
Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to install this I don't fully understand the read me file that comes with it?
-
I think the resolution on the monitor is a mirror image of the rift resolution when using the rift, the setting in the options is for when you use your monitor only, but just set it to the lowest setting and see what happens it can't do any harm

Is there a formation flying mission with A.I (Don't have friends for flight sims.) ?
Like.. a mission that requires you to fly in formation then tells you: Failed or Passed.
That would me awesome.
If you don't already know this you can set up a flight in the mission editor, add some waypoints then when in flight tell your wingman to go to route, he will then take the lead. You can then fly in formation with him
-
Yes I get my wingman to refuel at the same time as me with f15, m2000, and a10 just by using the coms go to tanker but this is not available in the f18 for some reason
