  1. doh! i might have known.. :music_whistling: well well.. i blame it on that i ususally never get the chance to do much else than crash when shot at..
  2. g-day I was hoping that someone here with to much time on their hands could shed some light on the EKRAN system. as long as everything is ok the EKRAN goes about its buiness and i dont pay much attention to it, but after -say a near SAM miss- the heli gets all banged up and lots of stuff brakes down. NOW i want to see what systems are unavailible, but i can only se the highest priority failure? Can i scroll/flip trough the messages in some way? the manual mentions that by pressing the "MWL" i can see the next message, but i dont know what that MWL is? And i have seen ppl posting files here that shows what systems that have broken down? How do i access those? Any special program? anyone?

  4. Thats how i feel to. When i judge the mission to be completed i head home.. no way that i would -like in the case of claring Tkvarcheli- head in over still hot territory just to flush out that last soldier down there.. the risk of getting shot down is just to great. and yes.. i understand that it would be near impossible to simulate a headquarter giving dynamicaly generated orders.. but still. some kind of communication would be nice. Even if the information dosent lead to anything in "the world" the player get a reply and a OK to RTB when hes out of ammo or feel that he has completed the objective? Atleast it would be nice to get some more feedback after the mission. I would know that i did great if i destroyed 16 tanks alone, but it i could see some rating (like in Falcon 4) i would get a better idea of my performance when things didnt go that well. But i understand that it would be hard to measure this.. perhapps something that could be pre dedermined in the mission? if the player fires 12 vikhrs and only get 3 destroyed tanks it would be poor result and waste of ammo but 8 tanks would be excellent. anything over that would be outSTANDing? If the helicopter didnt get a scratch that would improve it even more? Dunno.. One thing i was thinking about tough is that i might miss flying over certain "triggers"? if i stay at maximum range and turkey shoot the tanks and then just turn for home i might miss some new event/radiomessage that would happen if i would fly a couple of km closer to the tanks (or town or airfield or what ever)? i dont know. i guess that in the end i have to judge for myself what is success or not. or go multi player...
  5. Greets I dont know if this only concerns the stand alone missions or if it might happen during the campains aswell, but i more often than not feel that the missions i flown havent really "ended" even tough i seem to have cleared the area of enemies or emptied my stores and returned to base. All that happens after landing and i quit is that i get the statistics but nothing more. I dont know if i did good or completely missed something. The courier misson clearly says mission success and of you go for vodka and caviar.. i feel i played my part.. but in other missions the world seem pretty "dead". For example: in the clear Tkvarcheli misson witch i have struggled with dozens of times (like we all?) i finally managed to kill of every damn ground units, including lots of infantry, i could possible find in the area. the convoy did also make it unharmed all the way to the FARP with me as escort.. but then nothing more happend.. the convoy halted and thats it.. no radio com. no mission completed.. nothing.. i dont know if i have to kill EVERY last soldier in the town for a mission succes? If there are more goals that i have to complete i would like to know what they are, atlast when flying stand alone missions since i use them for practise before entering the campains. in the campain i would be content if just being able to survive counts as success.. ;) live to fight another day... same thing with the patrol mission.. the one where u head into the canyon and ambush the tank convoy. after killing like 6-8 tanks and 2 AA im out of ammo, and since head on rockets attack towards fireing tanks is suicide i return home.. and same here.. no information at all wheter or not this counts as success.. rearming and going back seems kinda wierd since it dosent seem like anyone cares what happens to the approaching tanks. so.... in conclusion. what i miss is a option to communicate with some commander or such that i could call in sighted/destroyed enemies and give my current situation on ammo/fuel or whatever. To call for reinforcment or just to alert whom it may concern of enemy presence. to get orders.. as it feels now im just a lone ranger hunting at will.
  6. It would seem that the wingmens AI isnt up to speed? i would like to be able to "control" them more precise.. such like giving "hold" and "change altitude" orders, and more options to make them scan the area and do stand off attacks instead of acting suicidical like is the case now. and i would like to have them act more on their own when in combat. sometimes i have showered an area with rockets and shells and done multiple kills, but the wingman havent even fired anything even tough i gave him orders to attack ground targets. And one other thing that totally drives me nuts is that they seem to have a infinite number of flares since they often, when in formation, drops one every fifth second or so even tough no SAM has launched. perhapps they are bored? :) -Me like shiny smoke thing!
  7. ok.. after some experimenting i have figured out that if i make a target point with the PVI-800 using the coordinates i get from the map i can send the wingman there and he WILL hover AND engage targets from that stand off position. Its a bit of a hassle to have to enter the didgits by hand but its sure better than having the wingman soaring stright at the defenses when ordered to engage. It really whould be more options to how he should act..
  8. I might be wrong but didint the wingman hover in the "data link" tutorial video? but that was on a all ready present point.
  9. Hello again.. in my last post i wondered about the LOS and the often "unfair" way anti air could spot me in places they shouldnt.. after 10 more flight hours i´ve started to find my way round the battlefield some more and found that once invisible targets can be seen and destroyed if the aircraft is positioned right. :) patience IS the key as been pointed out... but in this thread i want to learn more about the possibilities for creation of points to send wingmen to. I cant send them to a place to hover if i cant give them a point via the DL. i can create a targetpoint by typing in the coorinates but since i dont know what coordinates to give i wondered if it isnt possible to make target point in the same maner as i make the ingress points with the shkval? perhapps it is very easy but i dont remember seeing it in any tutorial. I know how to add/edit waypoints in the ABRIS and suspect i can make targetpoint there aswell? the thing is that i want my wingman to fly to a place and hover without any other order given. if i want him to attack i sent the attack/ingress points and tell him to engage.. but he wont go to an ingress point unless ordered to engage a target also? what are my options here? while we are at it.. how do i know what cooridnates a certain place on the ground -say 3 km ahead of my aircraft is? i havent really researched this further so perhapps its very simple just checkling F12 or so.. but i might just ask.. i always seem to get new and interesteing information when reading the forums.. cheers to you all that put so much time and effort here!
  10. Greetings. Ive been playing BShark for 5 days now and after intensive training i have moved on to the different missions. I have no real problems with anything exept actually spotting the enemies (when in my sights i know how to engage and kill). I dont want to use labels and even when i turn those on i still have a hard time finding the enemy before they find me.. i use a low, stand of strategy where i have a fairly clear view of the engengement zone but not in range of the anti air and look as hard as i can both with "my eyes" and the shkval zoomed in paning the area.. even if i KNOW where the enemy is (having died 20 times on the same mission and thus learned where the fire was coming from) i still cant see them because they are hidden under/behind trees.. if i try to move around to get in an other angel some hill or forest usually blocks the view completely.. the only options i have left is to slowly advance or move up.. intensly scanning the vicinity where the shots have been fired from.. BUT.. as i move closer/higher i get engaged..and more often than not shot down. the frustrating part is that the targets that are in the open gives me no problem, and if the target is like behind a house or hill it cant see me either and thats just realistic, but the ones "in hiding" seem to see me and have no problems firing missiles/bullets trough branches or trees?? sometimes i have tried to carpet the suspected area with rockets but that seems like a long shot..even with the occational kill, and in order to do that i have to fly straight in towards the incoming AAA. besides its a rather stupid and fast way to waste rockets. so.. bottom line.. any real suggestions/tactics how to see and lock up invicible targets without them engaging me? or is this a "graphical bug for the LOS" that needs to get adressed in a patch? to even the odds at least? It the enemy hides and suddenly emerges from the trees guns blazing when im moving close i would have been impressed.. but if the very trees seems to attack me... well.. ill just get angry.
