  1. It is scary that even after so long they still have no idea what the problem is. 18% seems really low; it could anything from jet fumes to the type of detergent used to wash the helmets. Until they fix the problem; they need to enhance the on the ground low oxygen training of-22 pilots.

Nevermind, just rewatched it. I doubt the chemical used to clean the masks could have caused that kind of memory loss.

  2. It's not necessarily cheating, but what is it needed for? On the ground, you have enough time to visually check for takeoff trim. In the air, changing trim to a setting that absolutely does not match your flight parameters is something that you shouldn't want to do if you value your life.

If you are going say 200-300 mph with 40in. manifold pressure and you are about to go into a steep dive with the minimum manifold pressure, neutral trim will likely give you much better control than what you currently have. With the reset trim to neutral command you can just hold down the button while keeping your eyes on other things, like the bogey you are chasing or the technical you are going to fire at.

  3. The new explosions don't look right at all; they make it look like a whole lot of thick black smoke was there before the explosion; and all the smoke that the explosion pushes outwards is just as thick as the rest; which looks wrong.

  4. The damage seems to be ok for the ground units. Maybe the armor on some of the aircraft is higher than it was before. But I do like how the damage to the player aircraft (P-51) seems to be more of the fluid leak, wire damage variety instead of having wings or very large pieces of the aircraft just fall off. I remember in the A-10C betas when the engines would just fall off of the plane.

  5. So far, all the weapons seem less damaging than they were before, either that or the P-51D's armor exceeds the other two DCS aircraft. One time I had Zu-23 rounds hit the nose of the aircraft when I was going over 300mph and the rounds were fired from less than a mile away, and there was only cosmetic damage if that. This will probably change when engine/oil/coolant pressure/temperature gets added.

  6. Glad to hear you have taken off and landed on grass ok with the P-51. This option should definitely be in the editor for all the helicopters as well; the ability for a cold or warm start without the farp, which looks ridiculous when it is close to enemies.

  7. Uninstall 1.1.2.0 -> install 1.1.2.1

Your settings and activations will be unaffected.

    Nate

It took one of my activations. Probably because after uninstalling 1.1.2.0 I went through with RegEditX and deleted all Eagle Dynamics registry entries. Don't really care since I have 8 left.

  8. Speaking of which, it really would be nice to see a 3D in game kneeboard with the pilot model turned off. It would be even better if you could change it to a tablet PC in the options.

  9. They don't.

There is a limit of 30 minutes video per missile, per mission. And a limit of 60 minutes total EO power on per mission.

The missiles will not suddenly stop working after 30 mins of video, or 60 mins EO on. The missiles will degrade and/or be more prone to failure the longer they are active, but it won't be a sudden failure after 30/60 minutes.

So it is only called overheating if it suddenly stops working?

  10. Why would you want to do such a thing in a real life situation? You either power your weapons or not - it also probably simplifies the design of the rail (you power everything on the rail or not).

because they overheat after being on for 30 minutes. If you had two mavericks and you could turn them on or off individually you could have a maverick ready on for < 57 minutes instead of < 27 minutes.

  11. Here is a better question: if the AGM's sensor's overheat after 30 minutes; how come there is no option to turn them on or off individually? You can only turn them all on or off at the same time.

Sensor degradation is modelled within the sim. ;) Maybe not in the same way it affects RL sensors, but IIRC the distance at which you will be able to achieve a lock will decrease greatly until at some point you won't be able to lock at all.

Was this added with the latest patch? For me it has never made a difference so far.
