In Game Thrustmaster Warthog and Cougar MFD Brightness Control mod

I can't get this to work. I have the HID icon on the home screen of DCS but it does nothing in the Hornet cockpit. I can dim the backlighting manually holding button 14 and 15 then adjusting brightness. Any idea? -
Water quality setting? Where is that? I too have really dull waves and thought I was missing something
