  1. Great tips, thanks guys!
  2. Thanks EtherealN, this input is exactly what I was looking for. EDIT: Any thoughts on how to tell friendlys from enemies? I've made some mistakes resulting in fratricide... :)
  3. First I need to say I'm really new. And I need to thank the community for being here. It's so great to hit these forums and peruse all the goodies. I've been flying for a month or so, and have gotten to the point that I can start the machine, take off, get to the next way point, hit a hover without vortexing myself to death and that's where the trouble starts. I've been almost exclusively flying the first Georgia Oil War campaign. Take a mission like "defend forward units at TP1" (wording is probably wrong..). I approach, then slow down way outside the enemy lines and float around killing units I can identify. I think the coast is clear, move up a bit and get blown to bits by some SAM emplacement that is hiding behind a tree. I guess what I'm asking, is if there are any tips to acquiring enemies other than hovering for 3 hours looking at the TV at max hoping to see a baddie? I was hoping there were some other tools in the box like satellite imagery/drones/recon folks that would help me in my mission of destruction. I can throw on tags, but then I'm cheating hehe... Thanks again for helping a newbie!
  4. You sure you didn't buy the base model? I bought a Toyota truck in '87 that didn't come with a rear bumper...
  5. Gracias!
  6. Just curious if there are any squadrons out there that take fairly new pilots. I've been busting ass learning to fly the BS and was hoping I could hook up with a crew that had room for a new pilot. Cheers. -ANALYST-
  7. NP, I did follow protocol and searched before posting. After checking the first few pages of eleventy billion and not finding an answer, I posted. I may have missed the answer...sorry! :pilotfly:
  8. A screen shot - you're my hero! Now, is the tilde supposed to bring up a menu? I've tried hitting that and even tried the above as key combos...
  9. Neither the / or \ key do anything (default mapping). I landed, shut down the engines and opened the door. How do I communicate with them? Also, I can switch channels using the radio control panel, but don't know which channel the ground crew is on, or how to talk to them... Thanks for putting up with my questions!
  10. Thanks for the input! I'll give both communication methods a try. Will the ground crew rearm with the engines still fired up?
  11. I'm new to the game and have a question regarding communications with the ground crew. After going through the bindings I see a few different options, but none are working for me. Can someone give me some help with this? Also, I have a binding for a communications menu to the '\' key. When I press it, nothing happens... Thanks. While I'm asking noobie questions... Is there anyway to tell if you've met the requirements for a campaign mission while you're still in it? I know there's a notification when it's complete, but in the heat of battle, sometimes I miss it... Thanks again!
  12. Thanks! It was right under my nose.
  13. Sorry to ask such a newbie question, but I can't find a key binding for night vision goggles...Searched the default binding list and can find night vision lighting for the cockpit, but that's it. Can anyone lend a hand? This mission is kinda tough while blind.... Thanks.
