GAU-8/A & Rocket training - Blocked at DSMS

Hi,

I've bought DCS A-10 a few weeks ago, still trying to learn how to fly correctly the beast.

I'm stuck in the Rocket training mission : Everything went fine until I approach the target range (Waypoint 4). The instructor tells me to deselect two rocket pods in the DSMS, which I did, but then.... nothing, he just stop talking to me.

I used the updated mission versions put in sticky just above.

EDIT : I was forced to remove all the audio files (.ogg) in the .trk file, as it was too heavy for a link on this forum (> 5 Mio). Hope it doesn't break the package, and it's still readable for you.

Thank you for the track. You forgot to raise the landing gear. This resulted in a LDG GEAR message on the HUD where the selected weapons stations would have been displayed otherwise. This is why the trigger was unable to check your station selection. As a side question, I noticed you flew all the way to the waypoints even through the instructor had asked to select the next waypoint and fly to it. Was this for any particular reason?

P.S. You can use the file exchage to upload large files when necessary.

Thanks for the information, I will test that asap. I feel dumb to made such a n00b mistake :s

However, as this mistake prevent to use rockets and gun, and so finish the tutorial, maybe it could be interesting to make a small remind when reaching Waypoint 1, for all the noob that forget to retract landing gears and the flaps.

For the fact that I reached all the waypoint, there's several reasons :

• The bad one : it's an old habbit when the training missions contained the heading bug.
  
• I've encountered a problem with the corrected training mission, when I was on route between WP2 and WP3. The instructor told me to go to WP4, so I cut the path, and he never told me to prepare for the rocket strafe.
  
• The noob reason : I'm playing with the keyboard, so I need to prepare a lot in order to correctly aim my shoot (Saitek x52 is on the way, you guys made me spend a lot of money ^^).

You are right, it would be a good idea to have a check of the landing gear after takeoff. Unfortunately changing the training missions can be difficult after a certain point, especially if it requires recording new voiceover lines.
