streakeagle Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Let me just say that I used to run LOMAC and FC2 on a 2.4 GHz Athlon A64 3800 Venice core with 2GB of PC3200 RAM and an x1800XL 512MB (later an HD4890 1GB and finally an HD6870) video card. Those games will not use the 2nd core, but I would expect your e6850 at 3.0GHz to equal or smoke my A64. I presume your HD5770 will far outperform the x1800XL, not sure about how it would compare to the HD4890. I never played LOMAC or FC2 very much, but when I did play it was simple F-15C vs 1-4 MiGs/Sus, so even at 1600x1200x32 with FSAAx4 and AFx16, frame rates were quite playable (30+, typically 40-45, sometimes pegged at vsync 60 fps). With highest in-game quality settings (shadows, mirrors, view distance, water), FPS could drop to about 15-20 near busy terrain at lower altitudes. Turning off mirrors helps a lot. I am not sure what my fps Having relied on the A64 as my primary gaming machine from 2005 to 2012, your specs look pretty darn good to me aside from the HD5770 being 128-bit rather than the 256-bit memory bus of the HD48xx/HD58xx cards.
