Hey Guys!

I think we have plenty of DCS fans here who got a DK2 and have been disappointed as in it's current state a black screen is what you get from you AMD video card.

I'm sure I'm not the oly one who found this out, but as I didn't see it written on the forums, I thought, ehy not make a thread for it quickly :)

So all you need for this is the Rift, Notepad++ and a TrackIR.

1. go to the DCSWorld\config\Monitorsetup folder and open the Stereo.lua in notepad++ and edit the "eyeshift" lines to your needs, this is basicly the IPD in stereo rendering, it is experimental, whatevere fits your eyes the best (on default it is 0.06 which is waaaay too high, the best for me is 0.035)

2. open dcs set the the monitor from 1 screen to stereo then exit

3. Make sure your Rift is in extended desktop mode and the set it as a primary display in the windows screen resolution menu

4. Don't forget to fire up the TrackIR before you fire up DCS :)

5. Get over the annoying fact that the mouse pionter has an offset of 3 cms to the left and the GUI is not in stereo :P you can drag the smaller menus to either left side or right side

I thought it's not going to work too well but as soon as I put the trackir camera in a position not to be blocked by the DK2 when turning my head tracking works wonderfully, and most interesting thing is that the image is somehow not distorted by the lens, incredibble 3D depth and everything has proper size.

Hope that helps to some people, if you have any questions, let me know.

Oh, and I cannot confirm it yet but I guess this will work in MP as well :)

Cheers

Hey,

Need a favor from DK2 user. There's opentrack build on dropbox with "test-" prefix. See if the damn thing works.

It's using the 0.4.1 SDK but when new build environment works, 0.4.2'll be integrated.

Thanks, it works! Though the offset cursor is annoying, its still fun.

I used 0.030 for my left and right eye offset, works much better for me. I still may be a thousandth or two off, so Ill experiment.
