I've only had this stick since I first tried DCSW 2 years ago ... there was only one ancient one from early days when I wasn't even seriously playing DCS.

But the left throttle is getting annoying, it's been half broken most of the time, however, thankfully it works okay when full power, and I've been able to use deadzone adjustment to make it go to zero, otherwise I can't start the engines if there's some thrust.

It's quite a big problem for me out there that most entry level sticks don't have dual throttles, I just don't see how on earth is a single throttle enough for a simulator, just doesn't make sense to me, infact none of them, I can't find any at all, none locally, only on amazon.de for new for 150 eur. Even if I buy used something else probably won't work so I'll have to exchange parts anyways for DIY or hired repair anyway.

I've just bought NTTR and A-10C so I don't have the budget for 300 dollar HOTAS for at least next 6 month, and even these more than half the time don't have dual throttle, I'm not even having that kind of time yet to play, but looking at the future, it's good to start planning this a bit early.

So is this repairable, is it even worthwhile taking to special electrician to take a look, there's got to be people around that repair, especially those drone and hooby aircraft people hmm ?

I've opened it up but the throttle mechanism is quite sealed shut, I didn't want to make any commitment so I put it back together at no more degradation.

There are a few buttons that don't work always, but those are misc and I don't need them that much.

I can totally see why the left throttle is damaged, because it's sticking out kinda in a way that when you handle it, it can get strained more than the right one, it feels a bit looser

Now I'm really neurotic about keeping it healthy, I'm not one of those angry types that bangs on keyboards. So the damage that happened probably wasn't from this, just general use from before, I don't think I made it any worse, deadzones are ofcourse not an optimal workaround, especially when the driver doesn't support low and high dead zones to be set separately.

I'm wondering if I could fix the twitching by applying a input filter to the OS just like I use AutoHotkey program to stop very fast double middle mouse clicks, that was so annoying a wheel click causing 2-4 browser tabs to open at once.

ADD: I guess the whole dual throttle thing is then simulated by some "shift" switch and ... that's really a compromise more than a solution.

The reason why I don't see the point of buying a better is that I barely got a hang of the game, I only know how to fly Su-25T and A10-A half, I only finished A-10A FC3 Campaign, a bit of Su-27, and I haven't even done any familarization with A-10C controls and cockpit.

Defective or dirt potentiometer trail, try clean:

In the video is Saitek Quadrant, but the cheap, low quality pot' is the same:

Replace the pot' although theoretical easy is not alternative because you don't find then for buy. That kind of sticks is "disposable". :)

Oh so it doesn't need to be greased .... i'll look the video over 10 times if need be, hopefully I don't clean the wrong stuff off, not sure.

I'll open it up again, but I quit the last time because I couldn't get them out of the case, maybe I'll be more lucky this time.

Can't believe I managed to fix it ... I didn't knew I could take that sensor out it's not really fused just locked in place, wow it works great now!!!

I thought I had to take the whole plastic lever out, no no, good thing I didn't try harder to break anything the last time.
