Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 in the Mission Editor. I believe it changed in the new ( 1.5 ) branch of DCS compared to how it looked like before. Another change I noticed is how Aloft winds are automatically populated when we set wind direction in the mission editor and the fact that - realistically - "ground" wind is taken at 30' (10m), just like IRL... But that turbulence factor, which can be no bigger than 197, has a multiplier ( by 0.1 ) factor. What exactly doe it set ? Height of the turbulence ( due to friction ) layer ? Weta43 Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 (edited) No, the amount of turbulence. think of it it as another component of wind, that is randomised, and it makes more sense when combined with an actual wind. If you add a wind (at x m/s), it will be constant. If you then add turbulence (at y * 0.1 m/s ) the net effect will be wind of x m/s that gusts +/- (y/10) in both the horizontal and the vertical. (edit - attached mission has wind + turbulence. Land at 250km/h and see the effect.)Turbulence test.miz Edited May 11, 2017 by Weta43 Cheers.
