maxTRX Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) I finally figured out why I couldn't see the stars at night anymore. The culprit was gamma setting in Nvidia CCP. I unchecked the "color control" in Nvidia CCP, set the ingame gamma to 2.0 (changed later to 1.7) and voila... The video playback looks too dark and the stars are barely visible. In VR they are very visible  Edited February 17, 2020 by Gripes323
maxTRX Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) I didnt see any stars in your video? As I mentioned the video playback on YT looks way too dark although I can still see the stars flickering even on my monitor, VR is just about perfect at 1.4 gamma. Try cranking up brightness. maxTRX Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Well, it seems I was wrong about Nvidia gamma control. Now I can see the stars in any gamma setting in both, the Nvidia and the game. I have no idea what the hell was going on my rig previously. So... I finally ended up on 1.2 gamma in-game and 1.8 in Nvidia CP. Looks best in my Rift but the video playback only looks decent when I crank up the brightness to the max on my monitor.
