Cionara Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Hi I installed DCS Black Shark and i have only 20 to maximum 40 fps. When I change to task-manager it shows that only one of my 4 cores is used and this one only to 25-40%. Is there anything to improve this ? My System: Q6600 @ 4 x 3.6Ghz Gtx280 @ OC 4096 DDR2 1000Mhz Windows XP 32 greetz Cionara Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
Boberro Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) Rather not... You can try do Affinity on cores but it helps about 20-50%. There should be around on forum tool for this. Also maybe try change to Vista, I heard it helps - but Vista 64. And... 20-40FPS it is not suprise for DCS - it uses old engine. Until there won't be divide tasks on cores I think we'll see FPS in these ranges. Also sims aren't shooters where often you have to get minimum 100 FPS :) There is similar thread, many advices to FPS, I couldn't find now, maybe somebody else can. Oh found it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37292&highlight=affinity it is one from many various similar threads about FPS issues. bengo Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Did you check the 'Full screen option' in the BS setup ? It doubled my FPS. BS is not setup as 'Full screen' as default during the install i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5
Shrubbo Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I would think something is wrong there, it appears that he has a better system then me (Certainly faster cpu and gfx, 3ghz duel core, 260 gtx oc) and I get much better fps running @ 4320x900. I am running vista tho with both cores running (affinity script) i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Cionara Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Thanks for your answers. Ok it seems that the fullscreen-option solved the problem of very low core usage. It's now up to 100% on one core and my fps raised from 20-40 to 45-60. Would be great to use the other 3 cores...maybe in the future, right ? :) Another question: Does the sim support 5.1 sorround sound ? greetings Cionara Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
Shrubbo Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I don't actually think it does 5.1 but I am running 2.1 so can not verify for you. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.
