untilIt’s racing season once again on the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers! Qualification for the traditional Shadow’s Trophy 2024 Tournament is now open! This year, not only helicopter lovers, but also pilots of the fastest fighter jets will be able to compete for valuable prizes from VIRPIL Controls and the event’s partners In addition, the race tracks have undergone major changes! The new helicopter zone on the Caucasus map in the Tuapse region, in addition to beautiful seaside views, will give pilots both time-tested elements and new challenges. In the Sochi-Adler area there is a racing track for fighter jets already familiar to frequent visitors of the VPC servers, which can be flown either from an airborne start or by preparing the plane at an airfield nearby! This route is quite fast, so only fourth-generation fighters are allowed to participate on it, starting with the F-14B and MiG-29A, and ending with the most popular among pilots, the F-18C and F-16C. All aircraft are divided into two groups “A” and “C”. Based on the results of previous seasons, the most popular among pilots and desired by spectators in the finals are the AH-64D and Ka-50 helicopters, which are presented in their groups “B” and “D”, respectively. Pilots of other helicopters should not be upset, because they can compete for the best qualifying result in their type and receive a coupon from VIRPIL Controls in the amount of 50€! На серверах VIRPIL Controls Community Servers открывается гоночный сезон! С сегодняшнего дня открывается квалификация уже традиционного турнира Shadow’s Trophy 2024! В этом году побороться за ценные призы от VIRPIL Controls и партнеров мероприятия смогут не только любители вертолетов, но и пилоты самых быстрых реактивных истребителей! Помимо этого, серьезные изменения претерпели трассы! Новая вертолетная зона на карте Кавказ в районе Туапсе помимо красивых приморских видов подарит пилотам как проверенные временем элементы, так и новые сложности. В районе Сочи-Адлер расположена уже знакомая посетителям серверов проекта гоночная трасса для истребителей, которую можно пролететь как со старта в воздухе, так и подготовив самолет на аэродроме неподалеку! Эта трасса достаточно скоростная, поэтому к участию на ней допускаются только истребители четвертого поколения, начиная с F-14B и МиГ-29А, и заканчивая самыми популярными среди пилотов F-18C и F-16C. Proxy404's DFCP Better Air Race Equipment (P-51 for scale) Tired of flying in an air race with the single pylon or fighting with the waypoints to get the stock helper gates working? This pack is for you! This pack includes new air gate styles, new helper gates, and a large and VERY large traffic cones! The "air gates" or cones come in 3 styles (pictured above), and the helper gates come in 2 styles, vertical and horizontal both ranging from 100-1000 ft at 100 ft increments and an arch. Each variant comes in all the colors. A special "Offset Helper Gate" is included that can be placed on buildings or raised surfaces that sets the gate horizontally of the edge. This allows gates to be more closely linked to an existing object's height like a building. Installation If you have a previous version of this mod installed, please delete the old folder before installing this one! Unzip the "DFCPBetterAirRaceEquipment" folder into the "..\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech" folder. The new air race items should show up in the mission editor under Static > Structures. Look for the prefix of DFCP. Note: If you don't have the "tech" folder in the mods directory, you will need to create it. Tacview objects included! Once the mod pack is unzipped into the DCS folder copy the "Tacview" folder from DFCPBetterAirRaceEquipment and paste it into your "C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\" folder. This will add the object files and the xml to Tacview so that the new objects can appear during recordings allowing you to review racing lines and see how close you came to smashing into that ring. Note: "AppData" is a hidden folder by default. A quick google search will tell you how to show hidden files.
