While lurking through the internet I stumbled upon this http://www.blendernation.com/2011/07/30/gsoc-2011-3d-audio-tools/ Now, as you may know most games require high degree of pre-baking done to your sounds, e.g. a game will not simulate how an engine sounds when occluded by the fuselage. I'm not an expert on the subject but I think this tool may come in handy.
