JB3DG Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 So for a new Warthog owner....can anyone tell me exactly what the purpose of the programmable LEDs is? I cant seem to see any earthly use for them except adding some green spots to the panel.

Home Fries Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I use the LEDs for a number of things. First and foremost, I'll use them to indicate the logical state of a variable in the profile that causes buttons or axes to be remapped. For example, if the profile believes that the landing gear is down, then an LED will light and S4 will work as wheelbrakes with differential braking (based on rudder position). If the gear is "up" in the profile, S4 will have another function (like autopilot disable). Since the profile may not be in sync with the game (i.e. if you try to deploy landing gear at too high a speed it will cycle in the profile but not in-game) the LED is useful to tell you whether the profile matches the in-game state. You can also do things for "coolness" factor, such as having a LED flash when the airbrake is deployed. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
