Viper482 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 These units I am supposed to have take objectives always say awaiting orders but before I even get to the target. I figured I should not tell them to move until I clear the tanks out right? Once I take out my targets I go to "other" in the radio menu to get them to move to the obj but the selection is no longer there. So am I even completing these missions if I don't give them the order to move? Also an additional question....do I have to RTB and land to complete a mission? Or can I hit quit in midair? I like it sometimes but other times I rather just move on to the next mission than fly back to base.

I believe you're referring to the very first mission of the default campaign (the one that has nothing to do with a bridge - there are two "first" missions) Don't take this the wrong way, but is it possible you have been killing the friendly tanks instead of the enemy? Also, you do not have to take out 100% of the enemies before you tell them to move - these guys will do a lot of the killing for you if I remember right, but you need to thin the crowd before you throw them in there. Regarding your last question, I think you can still complete that mission without actually landing, but this is not a rule that applies to all missions. Sorry I don't have a concrete answer, but you've already stated you know how to do it (just a matter of f10 comm menu and telling them to move), so I don't think it's necessarily something you've done wrong.
Viper482 Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 Def not killing my own guys, I input the coords the jtac gives me in the cdu and easily ID the T-80's in the mission. Problem is my friendlies disappear from the F10 menu by the time I clear the first JTAC run.
