nickexists Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 As I understand it in order to get a good ccip solution in windy conditions you need to enter the three wind layers into the cdu. This is easy enough with standard weather because the briefing gives you all the info for the wind. But how do you know what to put into the cdu on dynamic weather?
PFunk1606688187 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Its all fiction. I went down this rabbit hole a long time ago. The wind page doesn't do shit for you. A more productive use of your time would be to learn the bombing triangle and the essentials of how to correctly deliver weapons via CCIP. There are a few long threads about this. Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
howie87 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Short story is you don't. Just look at what the wind is doing and take a guess. I don't mess around with wind settings in the CDU.
towsim Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 We just came last week to this problem. So I did three test runs with 4 MK82 in CCRP mode out of 13000 ft AGL. The target approach was exactly the same from east to west in all tests. I tried to follow the ASL as exact as possible. The attached file contains three text files containing the bomb scores for each run and a JPG showing the impact locations as result. If someone has an explanation for the results (except, that I am the worst pilot around), please post.LASTEtest.zip [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
