Beerme Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I have enough quirky things going on with my A-10C module that I would like to uninstall and reinstall. What's the best way to do this? Delete folder from Mods? Use Module Manager? Dos Prompt? I have searched this and am not sure of the best way. Also, Do you need to deactivate before uninstalling? Also II, Do you need to purge Windows registry? Any advice would be appreciated. -Beerme
cichlidfan Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 The best first step would be to run a repair. Start Menu>All Programs>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World>Repair DCS World ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
Beerme Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 I tried the repair and it didn't seem to make a difference. Thanks for the reply tho.
cichlidfan Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) What are your symptoms? Repair should fix most things and also produces pretty much the same results as reinstalling the whole sim. If it doesn't fix it, then the problem usually lies in one of the files in your C:\Users\<yournamehere>\Saved Games\DCS folder. EDIT: Btw, the proper way to uninstall a module actually involves using the same toolset as repair uses. It is the Module Manager, btw. Deactivation or messing with the registry is not required.
