Flakked Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Hello! I've taken a break from DCS for a bit and just returned to fly the Huey more. However, I've been running into a very odd issue where when a mission is loaded, it won't let me fly. The view is set to a spectator view (F2) while AI takes over for whatever the given mission is. I've tested this with a quick custom mission where I made sure the Huey was set to the correct model Huey, and set to "Player." I've tested out the A-10 and P-51, both of which start fine.
Trubshaw Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 If you try to enter an aircraft in mp that you do not have a registered copy of.....or you Dcs does not recognise the serial number.....you get kicked to an Outside view. Check your serial number in module manager. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] TrubshawRN -=SHREK 94=-
Flakked Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 hmm, I have the steam version of DCS, so I believe that version of DCS doesn't have the mod manager? I could be wrong, though I don't have the "Mod Manager" listed on the main menu of DCS. Perhaps its located somewhere else for steam? Actually, I just noticed that DCS is at a newer Ver (1.2.7) whereas the Huey module is listed as 1.2.6 Beta. Perhaps that discrepancy is causing issues. I'll have to investigate
Flakked Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 yep, that was the issue. For anyone else that happens to run into the same problem, I had to activate my original Huey key via steam that I got from purchasing via the DCS website. I had originally used the manual download of Huey from that website, and entered the key there upon installation. However, that will not let you update automatically if you're using the steam version of DCS apparently. Good to know!
