Ben.NZ Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Hi all, I hope this is in the right topic. Recently I have been having a problem when flying FC3 aircraft such as the SU-25 and F-15, etc. When pulling hard back on the stick to perform a tight turn, my speedbrakes sometimes auto deploy, causing me to lose speed big time. For the most part it isn't a problem, because I notice it happening and retract them before any trouble starts, but sometimes I dont, and bad things happen. :music_whistling: From memory, I think the problem started sometime around the release of 1.2.7, though I am not 100% sure. Also, if it means anything, I am using a Saitek Cyborg Evo force joystick (which i cant wait to replace) I have no idea what is causing this, and I feel that I may be the only one affected by this problem, after searching it up. Any help or advice with this would be much appreciated. Thanks
ilikepie Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Are the speed brakes mapped to a slider on your hotas? May be a sloppy pot... I have never flown fc 3 craft so I cannot say if there is an auto deploy function. Action After Contemplation
Ben.NZ Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 No they're not, as far as I can see from the control list. I went into the control panel and tried to see if pulling back on the stick caused a joystick button to fire (my speed brakes deploy/retract are on two buttons on the joystick) but nope. Strange.
Zabuzard Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 The speedbrakes will deploy automaticly if your using the autopilot in the Su-27 because it has a "autopilot mode" for speed. The flaps etc will also deploy automaticly in all FC3 aircrafts (1.2.7.) because they aren't fully implemented. This is ment to help the pilots but in real their are also some automatic modes of them.
Ben.NZ Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Ahh thanks, so maybe this is what is happening. Though I rarely fly the su27 with autopilot on. Still, I have asked around in servers online during a game and no one seems to be experiencing the same thing as me. I'll try Un mapping the speed brake commands from my joystick later today and see if that does anything to help. Thanks for the reply
